Communication is key! 🌟 Inspired by Google's famous program, where employees are given time to pursue passion projects outside their primary responsibilities, volunteers from our Corporate Communications, Marketing Excellence, and Marketing Communications teams gathered last Friday for a creative workshop. The goal? To find innovative ways to communicate our new offers, products, and expanded portfolio to our stakeholders. It was a day filled with creativity and freedom, resulting in many exciting new ideas on how to communicate complex issues and products. This monday Ioanna Tzortzi, PhD from Perstorp held a presentation named Optimized emulsifiers for more sustainable waterborne alkyd coatings at the European Coatings Show. More than a 100 people attended the presentation that discussed how the needs for waterborne and biobased coatings are growing quickly. Our MD/CEO, Mazuin Ismail, recently shared the importance of the chemical industry in progressing energy and material transition at the World Petrochemical Conference 2025.   Mazuin highlighted that the chemical industry has and continues to play a key role in advancing humanity, ensuring economic prosperity and protecting the environment through innovation and technological breakthroughs. However, it must acknowledge and address its contribution to carbon emissions, in consideration of the disparities of affordability and energy access across different regions.   He also shared insights on PCG's focus on Operational Excellence, Supply Chain Excellence, Portfolio Emissions Management and Technology in addressing energy and material transition, complemented by a progressive and balanced approach that is in tune to the locality of its operations.   To further progress in this space, Mazuin called for more public-private collaborations, especially in ensuring the disparities across different regions and countries are carefully considered and managed.   #WPC2025 #Sustainability #EnergyTransition

Industrin vill driva omställningen framåt, och det är möjligt om politiken ger rätt förutsättningar. Today, Adam Kanne, Vice President Public Affairs at Perstorp and Chairman of Industrins Biogaskommission (The Industrial Commission for Biogas), submitted an action plan to the government. The Industrial Commission for Biogas will present and submit the action plan to Daniel Westlén, State Secretary to the Minister for Climate and the Environment, during a parliamentary seminar hosted by Isak From and Helena Storckenfeldt. “Ensuring access to biogas in Swedish industry is a strategic necessity – for the climate, the economy and security of supply”, comments Adam Kanne. Among the proposals in the action plan is a transitional solution in the form of targeted government industrial support for biogas as there is an urgent need for biogas as a raw material. All proposals benefit the climate, security of supply and Sweden's role as a leading industrial nation. For the industry to be able to transform, biogas is a requirement, and the amount produced today is significantly lower than the market demand. By 2030, the need is expected to reach a production of at least 10 TWh per year.   The Industrial Commission for Biogas consists of members from Perstorp, Höganäs AB, SSAB, IKEA, IKEM - Innovations- och kemiindustrierna i Sverige, Nordion Energi, Gasum, Uniper, Avfall Sverige and Energigas Sverige.
