Feel the Flow 🚀 Drei Tage voller Begegnungen, Inspiration, guter Gespräche und vor allem: voller Netzwerk-Power liegen hinter uns. Getreu unserem neuen Motto >Feel the Flow< konnten wir mit der #FlowFactory unsere Vision und vor allem die nächsten konkreten Schritte weiter schärfen. Los ging’s am Mittwoch mit einem großartigen Meetup bei der LBS Landesbausparkasse NordWest, wo wir gemeinsam mit den Förderern und Partnern der Flow Factory nicht nur Ziele und Flow Fields konkretisiert, sondern vor allem den persönlichen Austausch gesucht haben. Danke ❤️ für den tollen Auftakt und das Vertrauen in unsere Zusammenarbeit! Und vielen Dank an die LBS für die erneute Gastfreundschaft! Vom Pre-Event mit der Finanz Informatik - bis zur Messe waren wir mittendrin – mit unserem eigenen Stand, coolen Raketensocken 🚀 (ja, richtig gelesen 😉), einem starken Team aus Studierenden und Partner*innen und ganz viel positiver Energie! Was wir mitnehmen? 👉Tolle Gespräche 👉Großes Interesse an dem Zusammenschluss von Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft - ERCIS & #SparkassenFinanzgruppe 👉Und das Gefühl, dass hier gerade etwas richtig Gutes entsteht 🫶🏼 an alle, die uns in den letzten Tagen begleitet, unterstützt und einfach auch mal “Hallo” gesagt haben! Tolle Vorträge unter anderem von 🛹 Julius Dittmann und Jan vom Brocke, sehr gute Masterclass von d.velop über Agenten, spannende Startup-Pitches mit verdientem Sieger, viele interessante Begenungen und Gespräche, insgesamt ein Event vom Format der TechCrunch in San Francisco, nur etwas kleiner, aber dafür in Münster!

Time to say goodbye… but not really! Yesterday, the Department of Information Systems had the pleasure of bidding a heartfelt “farewell” to Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Jörg Becker in what was officially his “last” lecture – though thankfully not his last contribution. 🙌 Since 1990, Jörg Becker had shaped the department and the field of Information Systems through his leadership of the department over the past three decades. His research has left a lasting impact across areas such as process management, data management, e-government, information modelling, retail Information Systems, and hybrid value creation. Beyond that, he is the founder of the ERCIS (“ERCIS Godfather”). He currently leads the Research Unit “Future Digital Towns”, which explores innovative solutions for digital transformation of municipalities and local government. During the farewell, colleagues, long-time companions, and former and current doctoral students reflected on three decades of academic excellence, leadership, and mentorship – all wrapped into a creative and inspiring program. Luckily, this is not goodbye. Jörg Becker will continue to support the department in his role as a Senior Professor – and we are incredibly thankful for that. Thank you, Jörg Becker, for everything. 🚀 Bridging Research & Practice at the ERCIS Advisory Board Meeting! 🚀 What a fantastic day at d.velop in Gescher yesterday, where we brought together academia and industry for insightful discussions and great networking! Thanks, Markus Heuchert and Dr. Max Hartmann for inviting us! 🔹 We kicked things off with an update on ERCIS activities — exploring exciting new projects and initiatives. 🔹 We also got a glimpse of the upcoming #WI2025 in Münster this September—another excellent opportunity for exchange and collaboration. Don’t miss out on this fantastic conference! 🔹 The campus tour at d.velop was inspiring, showcasing an impressive development of the company. Thanks for having us and showing us around! The highlight? Two thought-provoking talks that sparked discussions: 💡 "#Cybersecurity as a Management Challenge" by Alexander Teubner 💡 "(Generative) AI and the Transformation of Work"  by Joschka Hüllmann & Miriam Möllers Thanks to the speakers for the interesting insights into their current research! Once again, it became clear: The connection between #research and #practice is essential for driving innovation! 🚀 Looking forward to continuing these great conversations with our advisory board partners! #AcademiaMeetsIndustry

🎓 ERCIS PhD Club – fantastic session on mixed methods research today! 🚀 Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming Nancy Pouloudi (Athens University of Economics and Business) to our second virtual #PhDClub meeting! She shared her expertise on mixed method research and gave us a valuable behind-the-scenes look into the challenges of publishing in this area. We were also excited to have Ariana Polyviou, one of her co-authors and former PhD student, join us. Ariana enriched the session with practical insights from her own PhD journey and the #JAIS publication that resulted out of their work (https://lnkd.in/gH86Z5rH). We are very happy that 44 participants from 18 partner institutions (from twelve countries 🌍) registered! That’s what we wished for 🤩💫! 🙏 A big thank you to both Nancy and Ariana for taking the time to support and inspire our PhD community and for Jan vom Brocke for discussing with us! 📅 And mark your calendars ✅! I feel very honored to have been nominated for the office of #AIS President in the current AIS elections together with highly respected #colleagues and #friends.
