🚀 We are extremely happy to announce that on 26th of March, 2025 in Paris we have officially signed the contract to host the 78th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Poznan in 2027! 🌍 ✨ The European Space Foundation, together with Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, POLSA Polska Agencja Kosmiczna | Polish Space Agency, Miasto Poznań, Grupa MTP, Poznan Congress Center, Poznań Convention Bureau, THE WAY (Impact CEE), with the support of LOT Polish Airlines, will host this unique event! 🪐 IAC 2027 will bring together leading scientists, experts and space enthusiasts from around the world, confirming Poland's growing role in space research and exploration. As the year comes to a close, we would like to extend our warmest wishes for the new year to everyone who shares our vision for the future in which space plays a crucial role. 🚀 This year has been a truly transformative one for the European Space Foundation, marked by significant events and honors that inspire us to keep reaching for the stars: ✨ We celebrated the 10th anniversary of the European Rover Challenge, hosted for the first time in Krakow at AGH University of Krakow! ✨ We were honored as the "Popularizer of Science in Poland" as an organization championing STEM education for youth Polish Press Agency ✨ We were selected as the host organization for the International Astronautical Congress 2027 in Poznań. Together with Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, POLSA Polska Agencja Kosmiczna | Polish Space Agency, the City of Poznan, the MTP Group and THE WAY company, we will bring IAC back to Poland after 60 years since it was last hosted! International Astronautical Federation ✨ We conducted numerous #climate & #STEM workshops for young changemakers. ✨ We launched the "Earth Rescue Challenge" contest, empowering youth in Poland to use satellite imagery for local problem-solving. Fundacja Empiria i Wiedza ✨ We secured funding under the ERASMUS+ program for our Space Industry Certification initiative. ✨ We took patronage over many inspiring initiatives, including (among others) the 150th anniversary of Jerzy Żuławski's birth, GRANTECANpic/PL contest by the SpaceShip Foundation, and the Space Technologies Master’s Degree Program at AGH University of Krakow. We’ve won! 🌟 We are thrilled to announce that Poznań, Poland, will host the most prominent space event in the world, the International Astronautical Congress IAC 2027. During #IAC2024 in Milan, in which more than 11,000 participants participated, the General Assembly of the International Astronautical Federation officially approved Poland’s bid, marking a monumental achievement for the Polish space sector. The project will be carried out jointly by the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, European Space Foundation (Host Organization), POLSA Polska Agencja Kosmiczna | Polish Space Agency, Miasto Poznań, Grupa MTP, Poznan Congress Center, Poznań Convention Bureau, and THE WAY (producer of Impact conference), with support from LOT Polish Airlines. Efforts to organize the IAC in Poland lasted nearly two years and involved several stages defined by the main organizer, the International Astronautical Federation (IAF). The final stage, the selection of the IAC 2027 organizer, took place on the last day of this year's congress. Several hundred members of the Federation, including the world’s space agencies, universities and companies, and NGOs working in the space field, voted.
