We greatly enjoyed participating in this year’s Labs Expo - Targi Wyposażenia i Technologii Laboratoryjnych, held in Poznań. It is the most significant event in Poland dedicated to laboratory equipment, where exhibitors showcased the latest technologies and solutions for laboratories across various industries. Over the course of two days, 2,351 attendees visited the expo, and 120 exhibitors from Poland and abroad presented their offerings. During the #Labsexpo, we had the opportunity to engage with exceptional individuals - industry experts and innovation enthusiasts. These meetings were incredibly inspiring, and we are delighted to have established new connections and shared our experience. A4BEE is the signatory of the “𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐲”, through which we act to change business reality for the better. Monika Żarnecka and Magdalena Miszkiel took part in a workshop organized by Forbes Women Polska a few days ago. During the workshop, we worked on updating the "Code of Good Practices", which includes seven demands to make everyday life fairer, more equal, and safer. We debated what changes should be made to capture as many needs as possible and co-create friendly workplaces. We covered topics such as recruiting without bias, closing the wage gap, parenting without exclusions, parental flexibility, awareness-building and educational activities, and anti-abuse. During the discussion, we were looking for answers to questions such as: does the system of reporting bullying and harassment work effectively? How do we encourage and protect whistleblowers? How do we effectively counter bullying and discrimination? What measures should be taken to equalize wages? How do we introduce flexible work opportunities? We agreed that it is essential to support women returning to the labor market after many years of absence due to parental and caregiving responsibilities and to inform and educate people about fathers' rights. The workshop was an excellent opportunity to inspire each other, exchange experiences, and listen to the opinions of informed, wise, and committed people. We believe these demands will have a real impact on changing our reality.
