On International Earth Day, Climate Class Connection proudly celebrated the occasion with 50 bright and passionate students from Grades 7, 8, and 9 at Islamabad Model College for Girls (NHC), under the guidance of Maria Karim, a dedicated Teach For Pakistan Fellow. The day commenced with speech competitions in both English and Urdu, followed by an engaging session titled “The Cost of Overconsumption". Led by Aysha Habib and Shumaila, the session featured interactive and fun-filled activities designed to educate students on how they can adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives and minimize overconsumption. The celebration concluded with poster-making and recycling project competitions, where students showcased their creativity and deep understanding of climate action. The Climate Class Connection team was highly impressed by the students’ passion and commitment to environmental responsibility. Winners from each category were awarded prizes in recognition of their outstanding contributions. • Celebrating Women Leaders in Climate Action At Climate Class Connection, we are proud to celebrate the women leading the fight for climate education and action. Their dedication is transforming schools and communities into spaces of sustainability and resilience. 💚 Ms. Kausar Parveen – Leading Climate Baithak, she is empowering young girls to raise their voices, advocate for climate action, and take ownership of solutions in a society where their participation is often limited. 💚 Ms. Ibtasam Malik – Spearheading climate initiatives in her school, she has mobilized students and teachers to take action, implement sustainability practices, and make climate education a reality beyond the classroom. These incredible women remind us that when women lead, change becomes unstoppable. On this International Women’s Day, we honour their leadership, resilience, and commitment to building a climate-conscious generation. The future is female, and the future is climate action! 🌍✨ #InternationalWomensDay 🌍💚 #WomenInClimateAction #WomenInEducation #GirlsCanLead
