🌍 Reducing Our Environmental Impact 🌱 At #LallemandOenology, we are committed to sustainability and Lallemand plants involved in the production of our microbiological products have implemented many initiatives to reduce their environmental impact and their carbon footprint emissions. These achievements are recognised by sustainability-related certifications under ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 standards. Here are some of our initiatives : ✅ Water Reuse in our Yeast plant in Grenaa (Denmark): Since 2019, we have reduced water usage by 50% in cleaning procedures by reusing condensation water from the evaporation process. ✅ Waste Upcycling in our yeast plant in Passau (Germany): We treat 8% of wastewater from fermentation to create "vinasse," a by-product used as an alternative to fossil-based fertilizers, animal feed, or raw material for biogas production. ✅ Water use reduction in our bacteria plant in Saint-Simon (France): since 2022, the subsequent optimisation actions have permitted reducing the “volume of water consumed/volume fermented” ratio by 7%, while maintaining quality standards for our products. ✅ Renewable Energy in our yeast derivatives plant in Salutaguse (Estonia): Our solar park, installed in 2023, produces about 112 MWh per year, saving 8% of electricity for the wastewater treatment plant. ✅ Energy Efficiency in our yeast plant in Montreal (Canada): We installed new turbo blowers, reducing electricity use by about 1 million kWh per year. ✅ CO2 Emissions Reduction in our yeast derivatives plant at Salutaguse (Estonia): we replaced steam traps to prevent steam loss and reduced our CO2 emissions by 125 tons/year. Together, we can make a difference! 🌿 More info on our environmental responsibility: https://ow.ly/C8RY50Tu3jS Read our full commitment to sustainability: https://ow.ly/SePn50Tu3ns #Sustainability #EnvironmentalImpact #GreenInitiatives #ESG #Lallemand
