From communications staff member to volunteer, Kalena McIntyre’s journey with VSA has come full circle 🌏 Her experience in 2015 interviewing returning volunteers opened her eyes to the life-changing power of volunteering – a spark that stayed with her until she found herself on assignment in the Cook Islands, alongside her husband Chris. Now working with the Cook Islands Child Welfare Association (CICWA), Kalena is applying her skills in digital communications, design, and storytelling to help the organisation grow and reconnect with its roots. From discovering CICWA's true founding date to securing vital resources through grant writing, Kalena’s impact has been tangible. Her advice to aspiring volunteers? “Grab that opportunity with both hands. Have faith in yourself.” Read Kalena’s full story and follow along with her journey here: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/dBTPH9SD #VSAVolunteer #InternationalDevelopment #CommunicationsForChange #CookIslands #VolunteerStory #MakingADifference
