🌳 Happy International Day of Forests! 🌍 As the world faces growing #climate challenges, we at the International Centre for EdTech Impact; WiKIT are committed to making a positive environmental impact in everything we do. This means driving sustainable EdTech solutions while also taking meaningful daily actions to reduce our carbon footprint. 🌲 In autumn 2024, we partnered with Trefadder AS, a Norwegian organization focused on climate-positive afforestation, to plant young oak trees near Lyngdal #Norway. This initiative supports both local ecosystems and global carbon capture efforts. Of course, sustainability goes beyond tree planting. For us, it includes: ✅ Saying no or significantly reducing international flights—favouring online meetings & webinars ✈️➡️💻 ✅ Using our laptops & phones far beyond the typical 3-year cycle ♻️ ✅ Recycling and participating in regular coast-cleaning activities 🌊 ✅ Advocating for environmentally-friendly policies in K12 EdTech (see our 2024 report: ✅ Launching the Environmental Impact Certification with International Certification of Evidence of Impact in Education (EduEvidence) in 2025 We all have a role to play in protecting our planet.
