A truly memorable day as North Sea Container Line celebrated the christening of the NCL Vestland - the first-ever container vessel to run on bio-methanol in operation in Norway, marking a significant step towards sustainability in the maritime industry 🚢 💚 This beautiful vessel was christened in a ceremony that highlighted innovation and eco-friendly progress in shipping 🌱 The event took place alongside mobilization of Mammoet’s heavy transport operations at Aibel’s yard, where the SPMT's were used on the Dogger Bank C load out. Crane Norway performed the loading operation onto the Wilson ASA vessel, Wilson Dvina. «En, to, tre, på det fjerde skal det skje» For 40 år siden ble den første flammen for vår regions største industrietablering tent🔥 Kårstø kunne begynne å motta og distribuere gass gjennom rørnettverket til Europa. Valg av lokasjon for industrietableringer er fortsatt et viktig tema i dag, med de samme parameterne som for 40 år siden: infrastruktur, havneforhold, kompetanse og vekstmuligheter. Dette krever samhandling, og det vil alltid være en risiko for motstand. Vi må fortsette å lære av fortiden, og ruste oss for å omfavne industriens verdiskapning og de ringvirkningene som følger med etableringene. Endringene på olje- og energimarkedene krever omstilling. Jakten på nye råstoffer er i gang. Kan det eksisterende rørnettet brukes til å transportere andre produkter i fremtiden? Med den unike kompetansen som finnes i vår region, er vi trygge på at Kårstø vil spille en viktig rolle også i fremtiden. With companies, people, ambitions, execution power and willingness to step forward and make a difference💪🏻 ✈️Haugesund airport, an international airport located on Karmøy 🌎Haugesund Wind Port Haavik, intended to be launched as one of the world's most efficient offshore wind port adjacent to one of Europes largest aluminium plants of Hydro 🚢Haugesund Cargo Terminals Husøy, where we are currently expanding with 6 million tones of rock from the Rogfast tunnel project (that will connect this region to Stavanger with only a 45 minutes drive) ⚓️Large wet storage areas in Norway’s most busy shipping lane, Karmsundet. 📍The city of Haugesund with Aibel’s yard easy to spot with its yellow HVDC platform, Dolwin. 🛳️Haugesund Cruise Port, that was awarded “Port of the Year” in 2023. 🕹️Haugesund Subsea & Offshore Base, Killingøy, where world records in deep-water operations is set in line with the rapid development. 🐟Bømlo Fiskerihavn (that you can almost see in the north) where we are in the middle of developing a large fishery port through our subsidiary, Hovlandshagen Utvikling AS, where value creation is achieved with cost-saving industrial symbiosis in exciting and new establishments. We are humble and proud of being the Port Authority of this region.
