📸 Last week at SurgTech 2025 at Leeds, Mikolaj Kowal presented the HoloCare system and the benefits of having holograms of patient anatomy when planning surgery. We’re proud to work with dedicated clinicians like Nick and feel lucky to help them provide quality care for their patients. Thanks to the Accelerated Surgical Care HealthTech Research Centre and SurgTech Inc. for hosting such a forward-looking and inspiring event! See www.holocare.com to learn more about our product.

Our secret to success? Frequent testing and close collaboration with surgical specialists. Recently, we conducted test sessions at both Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Hospital and Oslo universitetssykehus, gathering valuable feedback on our upcoming Meta Quest release. A big thank you to both teams for their insights and collaboration! Creating products is so much more effective when you have users willing to share their honest opinions early on.

🚀 Big News: 15.9M NOK to bring x-ray vision to orthopedic surgery! 🚀 HoloCare has been granted 15.9M NOK from The Research Council of Norway (Norges forskningsråd) to develop OrthoNavX in collaboration with OUS — a solution that helps surgeons see bones, nerves, and vessels directly on the patient during surgery. Building on years of R&D together with Oslo University Hospital, this project advances MRI-based segmentation and real-time model-to-patient registration, making “see-through vision” more accurate, robust, and easy for surgeons to use. By refining these techniques, we aim to improve surgical precision and reduce complications by up to 25%. A big thanks to Ola Wiig, Ole Jakob Elle, Rahul Prasanna Kumar, and the Intervention Centre for their expertise and dedication. Exciting times ahead—stay tuned!

Earlier this year, Prof. Peter Lodge and his team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust began using HoloCare’s holograms to enhance surgical planning. Since then, HoloCare has expanded across Europe, now supporting clinicians in France, Spain, Germany, Belgium, and Norway. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive—holograms are proving to be a game-changer for planning complex surgeries. Hear Prof. Lodge’s insights in the video below.

🚀 Honored to have Jahn Otto Andersen present HoloCare at Digital Fremtid 2024 in Oslo, Norway! He shared insights on HoloCare and our big ambitions for the EU Horizon HoloSurge HaDEA Project —where we’re driving a consortium of 9 hospitals and 3 research facilities, including Oslo University Hospital and SINTEF from Norway, towards real-time holographic navigation in the operating room. Special thanks to SINTEF Digital and Aksel Faanes Persson for hosting, and to all the inspiring speakers who shared their visions for a digital and green future in Norway!
