Today, SMST had the pleasure of welcoming a group of 20 enthusiastic students from the study association ‘Technisch Appèl’ (Tapp) for Mechanical Engineering of Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen. The visit was part of their initiative to gain insights into the industry, specifically in the field of offshore technology. The afternoon began with an engaging presentation where the students were introduced to SMST's innovative offshore equipment. After this, the students embarked on a guided tour of our premises to see firsthand the products we are currently building. We were delighted to share our passion for offshore technology with the next generation of engineers. We look forward to welcoming them back for future collaborations! #SMST #Hanze #MechanicalEngineerging #Tapp #Offshore #Workfield #Career #Vacancies #Internship #Graduation

We were honored to be present at the naming ceremony of the new Combat Support Ship Den Helder, built by Damen Naval. As a supplier of equipment to the Navy for years, we are pleased to have delivered the helicopter hangar door to the christened CSS for the Royal Netherlands Navy (RNLN). SMST is excited to further support the RNLN in their fleet renewal program. #SMST #DamenNaval #RoyalNetherlandsNavy #CombatSupportShip #DenHelder #Christening #Navy #Hangardoors
It was an honour to welcome Her Royal Highness, The Princess of Orange to our yard in Vlissingen today. Here, Her Royal Highness performed the christening of the new Combat Support Ship (CSS) Den Helder for the Royal Netherlands Navy (RNLN). This naming ceremony marked a particularly momentous occasion, being the first Dutch naval vessel to be named in ten years. We will see more such moments, as the RNLN sets about its ambitious fleet renewal programme in the coming years. The CSS will play an important role in this, restoring the navy’s maritime supply capacity, as well as conducting anti-drug trafficking and humanitarian aid duties. I, together with my colleagues at Damen Naval, and the many highly skilled companies in the Dutch supply chain, am looking forward to supporting our partners in the Netherlands Ministry of Defence as together we set about preparing our nation and the wider European region for a new generation of security at sea. #CEO #ceremony #naval Damen
