What an amazing week in #KualaLumpur! 🇲🇾 Last week, we brought the Rotate team together for our third annual training offsite. Diving into air cargo, technology, and our customers' needs, we focused on how we how we can best help the air cargo industry make better commercial decisions. A Teleport business case 🛫, many training sessions 🏫, a hackathon 💻, but also a badminton tournament 🏸, and late-night karaoke 🎤 made for a packed, productive, and fun week.   Special thanks to Cedric Millet and Michael Teoh for sharing CargoTech.aero's vision and Rotate's position in this. We are already looking forward to next year!

With our team currently in Kuala Lumpur for our annual week of offsite training, what better month to look at connectivity of South-East Asian airports. 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗳 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗳𝘀, 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 As an earlier Rotate analysis showed, the Transpacific may be the hardest hit by the newly announced "reciprocal tariffs", as the average additional tariff on imports from Asia will be 43% (54% for China, and 29% for the rest of Asia). As these tariffs go into effect on 5 April (10%) and 9 April (the rest), importers still have a few days to avoid most tariffs, if they are fast enough. This indeed seems to be happening, and we've heard rumors about charter rates of up to 1M USD currently being offered on the Transpacific. While astronomical, such figures do make economical sense for importers, as the simple math below will show: • 𝟵𝟱 𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝘀 payload on a "typical" Transpacific freighter • At 𝟭𝟵𝟳 𝗨𝗦𝗗 𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗸𝗴 average value per kg of US imports from Asia • Adds up to 𝟭𝟵𝗠 𝗨𝗦𝗗 worth of imports on a single flight  • With 𝟰𝟯% additional tariffs on average from 9 April onwards • Results in 𝟴𝗠 𝗨𝗦𝗗 of total tariffs per individual flight Giving importers 8 million reasons to get on board... #aircargo #logistics #tariffs #tradewar #aviation #transpacific Original post: https://lnkd.in/ecac9RUC

After the US administration announced new 25% #tariffs on #automotive imports, Rotate's strategy consulting team member Stein D. crunched the numbers in Rotate's Air Demand data: Among large exporters to the USA Germany, Japan and South Korea are most impacted, with over 10% of air exports to the USA affected.

The closure of London's #Heathrow airport has huge consequences not just for passenger travel, but a big impact on #cargo flows too. Using Rotate's Live Capacity and Air Demand data we find that more than 10% of European cargo is directly impacted, with Transatlantic capacity most affected (20% of cargo capacity on the lane is to/from #LHR!)
