The Norwegian Supreme Court has ruled in favour of Greenpeace Nordic and NATUR OG UNGDOM against the Norwegian State! 🇳🇴✊ Three illegal oil and gas fields in the North Sea must be shut down immediately. The government approved them without assessing their global climate impact — breaking both Norwegian and European law. This is a win for people, planet, and the rule of law. Greenpeace Aotearoa activists have stopped an Indonesian ship offloading 30 thousand tonnes of palm kernel expeller (PKE), destined for use as animal feed by the country’s biggest environmental polluter, dairy giant Fonterra.
Today we shut down the main storage facility of Fonterra's primary supplier of palm kernel, to protest the use of this animal feed on Fonterra farms. Palm kernel imported into New Zealand has been linked to deforestation, human rights violations, and illegally operating palm plantations. And this blood-soaked animal feed is being fed to Fonterra dairy cows whose milk is used to make Anchor Butter.
