Painting a superyacht is engineering, chemistry, and craftsmanship—layered. On a Feadship, coatings represent more than 5% of the build cost and are critical to both performance and aesthetics. Behind the flawless finish is a complex process of substrate preparation, fairing, priming, and precision spraying, often under demanding environmental controls. In this week’s PILOT Insights, we break down what it took to coat Savannah, the world’s largest metallic-painted object at launch. From microns of accuracy to a dedicated in-house team, here's how we deliver perfection, surface by surface: https://lnkd.in/eU3PJsUa

Completing our trio of nominations at the 20th World Superyacht Awards, Samadhi has been shortlisted in the Refitted Yachts, 500GT and above category—highlighting the strength of Feadship’s ongoing relationship with its fleet. Originally delivered in 2006, Samadhi returned to the Feadship Amsterdam shipyard for an extensive refit, merging technical upgrades with a renewed vision for contemporary cruising. The project reflects Feadship’s unique ability to evolve its yachts while honouring their original spirit. Samadhi is a testament to Feadship’s unrivalled quality throughout the circle of life.

Continuing our celebration of this year’s World Superyacht Awards nominations, B stands out as the second of three Feadships recognised for excellence—this time in the Displacement Motor Yachts, 500GT to 1,499GT category. The 59.50-metre B is a striking presence with her blue-grey hull and crisp white superstructure, but her significance runs deeper. She is the first Feadship to integrate solar cells for auxiliary power generation and is equipped with a diesel-electric propulsion system capable of running on non-fossil HVO fuel. Building on the sustainability milestones set by Obsidian and Project 821, B exemplifies Feadship’s commitment to climate-conscious innovation and long-term responsibility. A bold step toward our ambition of climate neutrality by 2030, B is proof that progress and elegance can share the same deck.

On 2–3 May 2025, the World Superyacht Awards will mark their 20th edition in Venice, and Feadship is proud to be represented with three outstanding nominations. Among them, the 102.60-metre Ulysses, competing in the Displacement Motor Yachts, 1,500GT and above category. Commissioned with one of the most demanding briefs to date, Ulysses was designed to deliver the same space and amenities as a 6,000GT yacht within half the volume. The result is a triumph of spatial ingenuity, regulatory expertise, and refined craftsmanship. With 1,100 square metres of exterior glass, a concealed helicopter hangar, and a powerful vertical bow. Ulysses embodies the quiet confidence, precision, and design excellence that set a Feadship apart from anything else on the water.

Tomorrow marks the opening of the World Yachting Summit (April 15–17, 2025) at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort, where Feadship proudly returns as a recognised thought leader in the evolving landscape of the yachting industry. Arjen van Elk will represent Feadship in a key discussion on economic models and market strategies spotlighting Feadship Resale, an initiative that has been actively supporting owners for the past year, building on decades of trusted experience. Feadship Resale offers something no one else can: direct access to our archives, engineers, and craftsmen, ensuring that each yacht’s pedigree is preserved and its value maximised. Acting as a trusted partner to the brokerage community, we provide expert insight tailored to every Feadship’s unique story, helping clients navigate resale with confidence, care, and continuity.
