Last week, an exciting milestone took place in our warehouse in Edam: the first batch of reusable parts was officially set aside for future installations. It’s a small change with big potential – and part of our growing effort to reduce waste and extend the life of high-quality components already in use. More importantly, our colleagues on the ground initiated this drive for reuse. Their practical insight, initiative and commitment to doing things better sparked the change - and turned a smart idea into a real, working solution. Thanks to their dedication, we’re now one step further on our ongoing #sustainability journey. ✅ Same quality. Smarter use. The adapter plates set aside for reuse (after thorough inspection and cleaning) are components that do not experience wear and tear. This makes them ideal for use in new door installations. By giving these parts a second life, we ensure the same trusted quality while taking a smarter, more sustainable approach to resource use. 🌍Why this matters More and more customers are consciously choosing sustainable solutions. By reusing durable parts, we are responding proactively – now and in the future. From workshop operations and quality control to warehouse logistics and sustainability planning—this milestone is the product of true cross-functional collaboration. And we’re just getting started. 💚 International Day of Happiness 💚 Yesterday, our factory colleagues in Edam came together to mark the International Day of Happiness. We were joined by inspirational speaker Lonneke van Dasler, who brought energy to the room with her talk on stress, happiness and resilience. Through engaging stories, smart insights and practical advice, Lonneke showed us how small shifts in mindset can lead to a more balanced, fulfilling life. There was plenty of laughter - and lots to think about. We started the morning with refreshing juices, milk, healthy green smoothies, and a delicious Boon Edam cake because well-being is about balance and enjoyment!
