Opening a second production site is exciting — but how do you manage inventory there just as efficiently as at your main location? Ancra Systems chose Fabory Logic, again. For over 25 years, Ancra has been streamlining loading and unloading processes for logistics companies around the world. The company manufactures automated trailer loading and unloading systems, used for shuttle services between production sites and distribution centers, as well as for inbound and outbound applications. As the company continued to grow, Ancra opened a second facility in 2024, located near its main site in Boxtel. However, employees were still going back and forth between the two locations because stock levels at the new site weren’t yet sufficient. That’s when Ancra decided to implement a Fabory Logic VMI solution there as well. In March, a two-bin system was successfully set up at the second site. Fabory account manager Pieter van Wijk explains: “During my visit to Ancra earlier this year, we decided to install the same number of cabinets as at the main location — 12 in total. The cabinet contents are identical. A merchandiser now visits the new location weekly to replenish stock, just like at the original site. Ancra wanted the exact same setup, and that’s exactly what we delivered. The Skateloader loading system is being assembled by our team at Ancra Systems for a valued food producer in Europe. The customer regularly loads various types of pallets into trailers, including Euro pallets, industry pallets, and even mixed pallet patterns, due to payload requirements. However, the Skateloader system provides the ideal solution for all these. By utilizing our unique top deck plate, we can efficiently handle Euro pallets (both long-side and short-side leading) and industry pallets (long-side leading). With 10 chain tracks, the system optimizes the loading pattern based on each pallet’s weight and configuration. While visiting the client's plant, our engineering team encountered a challenge. The Skateloader system had to be installed at the dock, but there was a basement underneath, which added complexity to the project. The team had to carefully consider the total weight of the system, as well as the pressure exerted on the floor. After a risk analysis and thorough evaluation, the team devised an effective solution to solve these problems by dealing differently with the anchoring and distribution of the weight of the total system on the floor.
