Eneba’s Engineering Manager, Tobias Nyholm, attended the Symfony Live event in Berlin last week and shares his highlights 📝 ❝The conference started with Nicolas Grekas sharing news about Symfony 7.3. I was impressed with Christopher Hertel talk about how you build your AI pipeline. He (and contributors) have done a LOT of work to make a solid SDK and Symfony bundle. I was privileged to give the last talk of the day on Thursday. I spoke about building very fast applications and gave my take on both theory and practical advice that should apply to most PHP applications. The conference party was hosted at C-Base. It is a fantastic hacker space in Berlin’s Mitte district. I spoke with developers at both Tideways GmbH and Datadog to hear how their services can help us at Eneba to make our applications run more smoothly. On the last day of the conference, Sebastian Bergann showed features in PHPUnit. He based his talk on questions from previous meetings and workshops. I feel very comfortable with PHPUnit, but I still learned a lot. I found out why you should add the Covers attribute to your tests. Also, how the Small, Medium, and Large attributes work in your tests and your coverage report. The conference ended with Nils Adermann delivering an important reminder of how we, as engineers, are vulnerable to all kinds of supply chain attacks and how we can protect ourselves.
