Senior Legal Counsel - Major Tech, New Team, Transaction Legal

My client, a tech company, is looking for its senior legal counsel.

About the job

• Define legal requirements and governance for complex transactions.
• Provide legal guidance on regulatory and commercial matters.
• Support the development and global rollout of new services and solutions.
• Collaborate with internal and external legal experts.
• Partner with Sales and Contract Management to negotiate key deals.
• Develop standardized templates and streamline legal processes.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of corporate/commercial legal experience.
• Bar qualification (any jurisdiction)
• Expertise in SaaS, software development, and new service launches.
• Experience in a global law firm or as in-house counsel.
• Strong problem-solving and risk management skills.
• Ability to advise leadership with sound legal and business judgment.
• Skilled in managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Resilient under pressure and a collaborative team player.
• Knowledge or Act on the Protection of Personal Information
• Fluent in Japanese and English.

Distinctive Features

• 2-3 days at the office

• You will be the first hire (you can work with people in their "general legal team")
