DG TAKANO is a solutions company: We employ design thinking, together with both traditional and cutting-edge Japanese technologies, to create unique products that help solve societal and environmental challenges on a global scale. Water conservation, in particular, has been our focus since 2009, and we are committed to drastically reducing the water footprint of the heaviest users. Our products save more than 22 mln. m³ of water every year. We believe that technology can and should benefit the environment and improve people's lives, and this vision is embedded in all our designs.

    We’re honored that the DG TAKANO Melior kitchen faucet, designed by Dan Harden and the Whipsaw team, has won the Red Dot Best of the Best award. This reimagination of an everyday faucet features bold design moves and purposeful function. Its geometric yet relaxed form reflects the clean lines of the modern kitchen, while innovations like the magnetic ball joint and flexible exposed hose offer precise control and total mobility. The uniquely patterned silicone socket delivers smooth, quiet movement—and the water-saving “Bubble90” spout adds sustainable performance to the mix. Dan Harden points out that the design of the Melior faucet "started with the behavior of water itself to creating a geometric, minimal design that feels both functional and timeless." A big thank you to Red Dot for recognizing this fresh take on an essential product.

    Happy to once again welcome business leaders from #Kyrgyzstan for a lecture on business innovation by Masaaki Takano and a tour of our precision manufacturing and R&D facilities. Kyrgyzstan is one of Central Asia’s fastest-growing economies, with a strong interest in Japanese technology and business practices. While their annual delegation visits major Japanese corporations, they often find it challenging to apply those large-scale strategies to their own businesses. That’s why we were honoured to hear that DGT has provided the most practical and actionable insights of their visit!
