This week I was challenged and delighted to be in attendance at the Travalyst annual convening. A coalition of some of the biggest names in travel and technology working to identify and leverage the benefits of travel for the world, this is an organisation that I have both high hopes for, and great faith in. It was a refreshing few days to be able to listen and learn so much and, more than that, to look ahead of the outcomes this coalition is targeting. It left me with hope and a renewed sense of motivation. This year’s International Women’s Day theme was to #AccelerateAction for gender equality and at TreadRight and The Travel Corporation, we’re all about making travel a force for good. So, who better to ask about how travel can benefit women than the incredible women we partner with through TreadRight, who have dedicated their lives to making the people, wildlife and places around them better. Adventure World wholeheartedly supports the movement to end the exploitation of wild animals in the tourism industry. World Animal Protection [WAP] have done outstanding work highlighting the cruel realities of wildlife tourism and advocating for better practices. They've shown us how the industry can inadvertently contribute to animal suffering by profiting from and promoting animal entertainment that often involves abuse.   This not only directly contributes to the suffering of these animals but also normalises such activities in the eyes of the public. It's time for the travel industry to take a stand and become a force for positive change, ensuring that tourism benefits both people and animals. This includes actively discouraging and ceasing the promotion of attractions that exploit animals for entertainment. #Travelwithpurpose #Maketravelmatter The TreadRight Foundation
