Angela Peterman, battalion senior medic for the 2nd Security Force Assistance Brigade, has been named ‘SFAB Advisor of the Month’ for her exceptional contributions during the Tunisian Special Operations Forces Commando Course. “I feel incredibly fortunate to have been a part of this effort,” said Peterman. “It was a privilege to collaborate with an outstanding team and support a program that strengthens both individual and collective capabilities.” Peterman’s role in supporting the rigorous #SOF selection and training process reflected not only her expertise as a #senior medic, but also her commitment to partner force development. She worked closely with Tunisian cadre to enhance the physical and mental readiness of candidates, ensuring they met the demanding standards required for Tunisia’s elite forces. #OTD in 1944, troops of the Fifth Army swarmed ashore on a 15-mile stretch of Italian beach near the resort towns of Anzio and Nettuno. In 24 hours the #Allies landed 36,000 troops & 3,000 vehicles and took control of Anzio and the neighboring town of Nettuno. The landings were carried out so flawlessly and German resistance was so light that British and American units gained their first day's objectives by noon. The Battle of Anzio, part of the #WWII Italian Campaign, began with the amphibious landing known as #OperationShingle and ended on June 4, 1944, with the liberation of Rome. Today, 81 years later, we commemorate their bravery and heroism and honor the fallen, during a ceremony at the Sicily-Rome American Cemetery hosted by the American Battle Monuments Commission.
