Our ships have always turned #innovation on 💡 Giulio Cesare was the first Italian ocean liner built after World War II. She was a true representation of Italian art. We attended the Connact Defence & Security event in Rome, dedicated to the future of European Common Defence — a crucial theme for the industrial, technological, and strategic development of the Union — organized in collaboration with the European Parliament's Office in Italy. Together with our SVP EU and NATO Affairs, Davide Cucino, we emphasized the need to accelerate decision-making and regulatory processes at the European level to effectively address new global challenges. This objective aligns with recent European initiatives designed to support an increasingly strategic and competitive defence industrial ecosystem in the long term. The event also provided an opportunity to present the Group's initiatives related to the protection of critical underwater infrastructures, a topic that is becoming increasingly central to the agendas of both the EU and NATO. We participated in the Top 100 North - East event, organized in Udine by PwC Italy in collaboration with the Nord Est Multimedia Group, titled "Too big to be family-owned? Companies and the opportunities of generational change". During the event, we explored how the resilience of organizations during times of great uncertainty is strictly linked with keeping technological leadership while ensuring flexibility and diversification. Our EVP Operations, Corporate Strategy and Innovation Claudio Cisilino spoke on the panel "The performance of the best companies in the North East", emphasizing the need to retain a long-term industrial vision based on the technological development of products and processes, collaborating with innovative startups and SMEs, to respond to continuous market disruptions. As such, innovation is a great opportunity to maintain and strengthen our leadership over time. Today, at our Muggiano shipyard, we celebrated the delivery of the multi-role frigate “Spartaco Schergat” to the #ItalianNavy, the ninth of a series of 10 FREMM units commissioned to #OrizzonteSistemiNavali, the joint venture between Fincantieri and #Leonardo, under a contract signed with #OCCAR. The ceremony was attended, among others, by Dario Deste, our General Manager of the Naval Vessels Division, Giovanni Sorrentino, CEO of OSN, OCCAR Director General Joachim Sucker, Admiral Vincenzo #Montanaro, Commander of the Interregional Maritime Command South, Admiral Giuseppe #Abbamonte, Director of Naval Armaments and General Francois #Watteau, DGA representative. "Spartaco Schergat" is the first of the two units in the Enhanced Anti-Submarine Warfare configuration, with the most advanced systems produced in collaboration with Leonardo, #MBDA and #Elettronica.
