This is an important issue above all for electric drives with high speed rotating gears. The meshless CFD Particleworks has specific models to simulate oil foaming in and engines. The models have been developed and validated in collaboration with automotive and lubricant companies.     This webinar will introduce and describe the application of meshless CFD to Friction Stir Welding (FSW). FSW is a welding technique used to join different metals / materials by friction generated by a rotating tool. The meshless CFD software Particleworks has been used to predict the interaction between the tool and the base material and the results have been validated in research projects. Specific models allow Particleworks to accurately predict the plastic flow of softened metals due to frictional heat for different material properties and tool shapes.
