Many employees would stay until 3 AM, something Kapoor strongly opposed. Random thoughts on a Sunday ------------------------------- Curious case of Super App Vs Focussed multiple apps Two major food delivery apps Zomato and Swiggy adopt different app strategies when it comes to providing their offerings to end users. Swiggy has built super smooth app experience eventhough so many of its business offereings are bundled into single App. Zomato on the otherhand is going with multiple App strategy for its different business offerings. One of the key advantages I do see with Zomato's approach is that speed at which they can release new features / experiments to the market. From a technical perspective, it would be so easy to contain blast radius when your critical CFUR, ANR metrics falls below threshold. But user preference and market research of the user base is something that triumps technical challenges. #android #iOS #appexperience

How your habits of laziness gives birth to giant businesses.. Swiggy and Zomato have increased their platform fees to ₹6 in key markets like Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. This is 20% hike from previously ₹5 charged. Swiggy has even teased ₹7 platform fees (strikes ₹7 and showing ₹6 discounted platform fees) Even Blinkit is charging rain surcharge of ₹30 These platforms started charging ₹2 platform fees and increased it over months. “Platform fee = Gold Mine” First, it was Zomato and Swiggy adding “platform fees.” Now, Google Pay wants a piece of the pie too. ₹1.9 may seems like chillar! But for Google pay it’s a money making machine. Let’s do some maths: - India sees 167.6M daily GPay transactions. - Assume just 5% are mobile recharges = 8.38M. - Multiply by ₹1.9 per recharge = ₹1.59 Cr daily. What’s next? Platform fees for sending “Shagun” money to relatives? “Pay ₹2 extra to avoid chachaji judging you for odd numbers.”😅 On a serious note, What do you think? This tarnishes India's real estate reputation, as people are often tricked into bad investments. However, real estate can be a good investment if you understand these points: 1. **Builder Control**: Builders sell high and buy low. Avoid buying overinflated properties for good returns. 2. **Clueless Buyers**: Ensure rental yield is above 4%. On a 1Cr property, rent should be at least 4 Lakhs annually. Overpaying leads to poor returns. 3. **Inflated Prices**: Selling an overinflated property is difficult. Buyers will investigate rental yields. Builders create FOMO to sell. You need experience and good judgment. Buy real estate only when it mathematically makes sense.
