Organized in collaboration with First Drop Theatre and led by the incredibly talented duo, Radhika Jain, PhD, and Bejoy Balagopal, the session was filled with energy, emotion, and storytelling magic. Our members embraced the experience with openness and imagination — shedding inhibitions, sharing personal stories, laughing together, and fully immersing themselves in the moment. It was heartwarming to witness the power of community, creativity, and shared vulnerability come alive over those three vibrant hours. Curiosity and learning have no expiry date or age! At a recent visit to Phalada Pure & Sure's organic factory in Bangalore our members were full of questions wanting to understand the world of organics. The string of questions asked over an hour long interaction were highly inquisitive and deep, highlighting their interest in learning new things. The interaction followed by a walk through the factory to understand the production process sealed their quest. The sumptuous organic lunch followed by a shopping spree made their day fulfilling and enjoyable. Thank you Surya Shastry and Phalada Pure & Sure for hosting us. Exploring History, Culture, and Connections on the Cathedral Walk! 🌿 We recently curated a fascinating Heritage Walk in collaboration with Madras Inherited, taking our members on a journey through the iconic spots of Cathedral Road and the lush surroundings of the Botanical Garden. The highlight of the walk was the magnificent St. Cathedral Church, where members discovered its rich history and unique architectural details. Along the way, they uncovered captivating stories, explored cultural landmarks, and gained a deeper appreciation for Chennai’s heritage. This wasn’t just a walk—it was an experience of learning, bonding, and celebrating the vibrant tapestry of Chennai. Members left with not only new knowledge but also lasting friendships and shared memories. At Silver Talkies, every experience is an opportunity to explore, learn, and connect. The art exhibition at Forum South Mall was an incredible success, all thanks to the immense talent of our wonderful members—Jayanti, Geetha, Swati, and Neelam. These four gifted artists showcased 24 stunning paintings, each with a unique story that captivated visitors of all age groups. The artwork was beautifully displayed and drew admiration from everyone who stopped by, leaving them inspired by the creativity and passion of our members. Adding a touch of fun to the event, a caricature artist delighted visitors with exciting sketches, bringing smiles to faces young and old. It was truly heartwarming to see the overwhelming appreciation for our members’ talent and the joy their art brought to the community.

Some more musings from the Parents Day Cisco

This Friday we had an opportunity to interact with Cisco's parents. A Parent's Day organized under their Adult Caregivers Network - India initiative saw parents of many employees spend a day at the Cisco campus engaging over health talks, balance exercises and fun games and storytelling activities. We brought in the fun element with storytelling and games like lemon and spoon race, basket the ball, memory games, jigsaw puzzles and more. It was a fulfilling day for them and us! We recently organized a fascinating visit to the Pure & Sure Factory for our Bangalore members, offering a rare glimpse into how organic food is made. From the meticulous cleaning process to packaging and labeling, the experience was nothing short of enlightening! Here's what our members had to say: Madhu Gulati shared: "It was a great experience to see the factory, and Surya had incredible patience in answering each and every query from us. Gujarat: A Journey Through Heritage, Culture & Colors Our trip to Gujarat was an unforgettable experience, blending history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes. Starting in Ahmedabad, we explored the city's rich heritage, from centuries-old architecture to its vibrant street food scene. The bustling markets and historical sites set the tone for our adventure. Next, we made our way to Bhuj, a gateway to the stunning landscapes of Kutch. From here, we ventured to the mesmerizing Rann of Kutch, where the vast white desert glowed under the golden hues of sunrise and sunset. The Rann Utsav was a highlight—immersing us in the region’s folk music, dance, and local crafts. Dressing up in traditional Gujarati attire and dancing to the rhythmic beats of the dhol on the white sand, with the setting sun as our backdrop, was an experience fit for memoirs. A visit to Dholavira took us back in time, walking through the fascinating ruins of the Indus Valley Civilization, marveling at its ancient water management system and well-planned city layout. We also stopped at Ajrakhpur, a paradise for textile lovers, where we watched master artisans create intricate Ajrakh block prints, a craft passed down for generations. Throughout the trip, we indulged in delicious Gujarati cuisine, shopped for exquisite handicrafts, and connected with the warm and welcoming locals. The journey was not just about the places but also the friendships and memories we made along the way. From heritage walks to cultural immersions, from shopping sprees to soul-stirring landscapes, Gujarat offered us the perfect mix of history, artistry, and natural beauty. It was truly an experience to cherish forever!
