In a world where over 4.8 million people in India live with visual impairments (Source: WHO), access to information, education, and employment is still unequal. But AI has the power to transform. From screen readers powered by machine learning to AI-driven object recognition and navigation aids, technology is becoming a powerful enabler for those with vision disabilities. By fostering inclusive design and assistive tech, we can build a world where accessibility isn’t an afterthought—it’s a standard. At Nasscom Foundation, we champion #AIForSocialGood, enabling social innovations for greater positive impact. #TechForGood #AccessibilityMatters #InclusionThroughAI #AssistiveTech #InclusiveDesign #InclusionForAll

  • We collaborated with HGS to empower 110 marginalized women graduates from Hyderabad and today, we celebrate the incredible outcomes of that journey. Through a structured 180-hour blended training program, these students were equipped with in-demand skills in Data Science and Analytics — from Advanced Excel, Python, SQL, to Power BI along with soft skills, resume building, and mock interviews. The learning went beyond the classroom — thanks to volunteering sessions with HGS professionals, students gained real-world insights and the confidence to navigate corporate work environments. Furthermore, a few of the young women from the previous cohort have even secured employment opportunities — stepping into a future they once thought was out of their reach.    To celebrate their commitment and success, a felicitation ceremony was held in the presence of Shilpa Harsh - EVP, Global Corporate Communication, CSR, DEI and ESG, Nagesh.R Mehendale- Senior Manager, Corporate Communication and CSR, Agnes Jovita- Manager, Global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion from HGS along with Purna Choudhary, Ashutosh Nema and Amlan C. from Nasscom Foundation, where students received their certificates — a milestone marking their transition into the professional world. #WomenInTech #DigitalSkilling #SocialImpact #InclusiveWorkforce #TechForGood #YouthEmpowerment #SkillingIndia

  • In a world driven by technology, understanding emerging tech isn’t optional — it’s essential. However, the youth often lack access to opportunities that can prepare them for careers in tech. To bridge this gap, the Nasscom Foundation, with the support of IGT Solutions, implemented a learning program for undergraduate students from underserved backgrounds. The initiative focused on building awareness around the fundamentals of emerging technologies such as AI, Data Analytics, Cloud Computing, IoT, Blockchain, and Cybersecurity — helping students understand these technologies, the courses available, and the career paths they can explore. The program boosted students’ confidence and broadened their understanding of the tech landscape. Upon completion, they were awarded participation certificates — a recognition of their commitment to exploring the tech-driven world. By apprising young minds about future-focused skills, we are helping shape a more inclusive and empowered workforce for tomorrow. Mohammed Numan Heeba . Ankita R. • At the 2nd Edition of the Deaf Conference 2025, something remarkable unfolded—a unique All-Deaf Panel, where every speaker brought not only expertise but lived experience. The result? A conversation that was unfiltered, urgent, and deeply authentic. Rupmani Chhetri opened with a powerful truth: truly inclusive environments don’t emerge passively. They are built—deliberately, consciously—with intent. She also highlighted how deaf women often face a double burden, navigating both ableism and gender bias in the workplace. Aqil Chinoy didn’t hold back, spotlighting the wage disparity that persists for deaf professionals. His message was clear: “Deafness isn’t something to be fixed—it’s the environment that must evolve.” ARUN C RAO emphasized that the lack of sign language access in corporate spaces creates invisible walls long before deaf individuals get a seat at the table. Accessibility, he stressed, must be a throughline—not an afterthought. A.S. NARYANAN pushed the conversation toward action, urging the community to advocate with and for the Deaf—by building tools, systems, and policies that ensure full, equitable participation. Srinivasan Radhakrishnan and Swamy challenged deep-seated biases that often go unchecked, reminding us that inclusion starts where stereotypes end. This wasn’t just another panel—it was a turning point. A room full of deaf leaders, leading the conversation on their own terms. And a clear reminder: if we’re not intentional about inclusion, we’re unintentionally excluding. Immense gratitude to our panellists for lighting the path forward, with clarity, courage, and conviction. Roy C Thomas #InclusionForAll #DeafLeadership #NothingAboutUsWithoutUs

  • What does it truly take to build a workplace that hears every voice—especially those that communicate differently? This powerful panel unpacked more than just strategies—it shared lived experiences, bold insights, and an urgent call to action for deeper deaf inclusion in the workplace. Devika N. emphasized that inclusion isn’t a checkbox; it’s a conscious, continuous commitment to culture. Jyotsna Malhotra reframed inclusion as a core business strategy—key to driving scalable, sustainable impact. Deepa Nagraj cautioned against isolated efforts, urging companies to invest in systems that support the full employee journey—from hiring to leadership—with accessibility at every step. Deepa Narasimhan reminded us that without empathetic listening, even well-meaning actions risk exclusion. Mubarac A spotlighted the path ahead: from building capacity and expanding interpreter services to integrating innovation and increasing deaf representation at all levels. This wasn’t just another panel. It was a mirror—and a mandate. To lead not just with strategy, but with soul. To stop fixing the system from the top down and start rebuilding it from the inside out. Because inclusion that’s real doesn’t echo—it resonates. We extend our sincere gratitude to the leaders for sharing their insightful perspectives on this crucial dimension of Deaf inclusion within workplace environments.
