The CEO committee of the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI) convened a significant meeting with Shri Jyotiraditya M Scindia, Hon’ble Union Minister for Communications and the Minister for Development of Northeastern Region, Government of India focused on enhancing collaboration between India and France, with a special emphasis on opportunities in the Northeastern region of India, on 15th April 2025, at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in New Delhi. The meeting was also graced by H.E. Mr. Thierry Mathou, Ambassador of France to India and Mr. Chanchal Kumar mdoner, Secretary, Ministry of Development of Northeastern Region (MDoNER), Government of India. Mr. Jean Touboul, President, IFCCI & CEO, Pernod Ricard India, thanked Hon’ble Minister Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia for engaging with IFCCI’s CEO Committee. He highlighted the Chamber’s role in strengthening Indo-French business ties, the CEO Committee’s strategic mission, and applauded India’s reform-driven agenda and focus on the Northeast as a growth hub. H.E. Mr. Thierry Mathou, Ambassador of France to India, highlighted the strong presence of French companies in the Northeast, calling the region a fertile ground for innovation and collaboration. He encouraged further French investments and acknowledged that the proposed Indo-French investment conclave in Guwahati will be a crucial opportunity to deepen Indo-French engagement. In his keynote, Hon’ble Minister Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia applauded IFCCI’s initiative of convening CEOs of French companies, calling the India-France relationship generational and deeply rooted. He spotlighted the immense potential for Indo-French collaboration in Northeast India - World’s "cradle of transformative trade routes" - and invited French companies to explore opportunities across infrastructure, sustainability, tourism, and more. The meeting featured an engaging dialogue with representatives from leading French companies such as Airbus, Dassault Systèmes, POMA, and Axens, who shared updates on their current projects and future plans in the region, reaffirming the strong commitment of French industry to India’s growth story.
