The CEO committee of the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI) convened a significant meeting with Shri Jyotiraditya M Scindia, Hon’ble Union Minister for Communications and the Minister for Development of Northeastern Region, Government of India focused on enhancing collaboration between India and France, with a special emphasis on opportunities in the Northeastern region of India, on 15th April 2025, at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in New Delhi. The meeting was also graced by H.E. Mr. Thierry Mathou, Ambassador of France to India and Mr. Chanchal Kumar mdoner, Secretary, Ministry of Development of Northeastern Region (MDoNER), Government of India.    Mr. Jean Touboul, President, IFCCI & CEO, Pernod Ricard India, thanked Hon’ble Minister Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia for engaging with IFCCI’s CEO Committee. He highlighted the Chamber’s role in strengthening Indo-French business ties, the CEO Committee’s strategic mission, and applauded India’s reform-driven agenda and focus on the Northeast as a growth hub. H.E. Mr. Thierry Mathou, Ambassador of France to India, highlighted the strong presence of French companies in the Northeast, calling the region a fertile ground for innovation and collaboration. He encouraged further French investments and acknowledged that the proposed Indo-French investment conclave in Guwahati will be a crucial opportunity to deepen Indo-French engagement. In his keynote, Hon’ble Minister Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia applauded IFCCI’s initiative of convening CEOs of French companies, calling the India-France relationship generational and deeply rooted. He spotlighted the immense potential for Indo-French collaboration in Northeast India - World’s "cradle of transformative trade routes" - and invited French companies to explore opportunities across infrastructure, sustainability, tourism, and more. The meeting featured an engaging dialogue with representatives from leading French companies such as Airbus, Dassault Systèmes, POMA, and Axens, who shared updates on their current projects and future plans in the region, reaffirming the strong commitment of French industry to India’s growth story. The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI) extends its heartfelt congratulations to the winners of the Indo-French Business Awards (IFBA) and the Grand Prix VIE, held on the evening of 15th April 2025 at the Embassy of France. The seventh edition of the prestigious flagship event was organized by the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI) in collaboration with the French Embassy in India / Ambassade de France en Inde, Business France India, CCE Inde - French Foreign Trade Advisors, and Team France Export. The awards were presented by H.E. The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI) organised a successful Business Roundtable in Paris on Friday, with the support of MEDEF International and the Embassy of India in Paris on Doing Business in India - Mitigating Business Risks and Effective Dispute Resolutions.    The highly distinguished event saw two high-level discussions on 'Culture & Business Risks and Diligence' bringing together important feedback on how to enhance business prospects and promote best practices across the 'Doing business in India journey' while establishing or expanding as a successful French company in India.   The event commenced with welcome remarks from Mr. Gérard Wolf, Chairman of the Sustainable City Task Force of MEDEF International; a keynote address by Mr. Naveen Kumar, Counsellor (Economic & Commercial) and Head of the Wing, Embassy of India in Paris who spoke about the positive outlook of the Indian Government towards FDI and ease of other regulations to attract business opportunities into India, followed by an opening address by Ms. Rishika Roy, Head - Committees & Partnerships IFCCI.   Mr. Gérard Wolf who has a rich and longstanding experience and understanding of the Indian market, suggested companies hire young talent and nurture them in order to attract innovation as, according to him 'Innovation is in the DNA of the Indian market'   Key learnings from the event: -As people are an organisation's asset, companies should focus more and more on sharing, caring and learning together and find purpose and value in their professional growth journey. -Finding the right partner is vital: Having a critical thinking analysis is important in decision making; it is vital to reinforce the right procedures, checklists, invest in finding the right partners for due diligence and background checks to navigate the dense investment regulatory systems. The #IFCCILuxurySymposium held in Mumbai brought together industry leaders to explore the ever-evolving Indian luxury landscape. With digital-savvy consumers, immersive experiences, and brand storytelling taking center stage, the discussions offered a deep dive into what’s shaping the future of luxury in India.   One of the discussions, moderated by Ms. Swagata Bottero (Baruah) (Vice-chair, IFCCI Luxury Committee & India Affairs & Strategy Director, Cartier International) on “The New Culture of Indian Luxury Consumers,” featured insights from Mr. Stephane Larher (MD - MEIA, Bvlgari, LVMH), Mr. Gopal Asthana (CEO, Tata CLiQ), Mr. Sandeep Batra (MD - International Wealth and Premier Banking, HSBC India) and Mr. Jay Makhijani, distinguished watch connoisseur and founder of Simone Ventures. The discussion highlighted the evolution of the culture of the new #Indianluxuryconsumers, exploring unprecedented dynamics of the luxury industry in India, triggered by the rise of the discerning affluent class, the ascent of Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, a highly digitally savvy generation of aspirational Millenials and GenZs with a strong appetite for emotionally resonant stories and experiences, digital as a key channel for creating powerful and compelling brand stories, a unique cultural context and a growing exposure to the world trends.   Looking ahead, building an India specific strategy with a cultural relevance for products and experiences, having a strong online strategy to complement brick & mortar, crafting authentic and powerful stories to foster genuine connections with online audiences would pave the path forward for success in the fast growing Indian market.   In another panel, “The Rise of Immersive Luxury Experiences,” moderated by Ms. Sheetal Wadhwa Munshaw (Director, Atout France India), the discussion delved into how luxury is no longer just about ownership but about engagement and experience. The panel featured Ms. Akshita M. Bhanj Deo (Editor-in-Chief, Travel + Leisure South Asia & India), Ms. Bandana Tewari (Director – Cultural Sustainability, Sitara - Good Earth), Prof. Ashok Som (Founding Director, ESSEC-Parsons EMiLUX), Ms. Vandana Mohan (Founder, The Wedding Design Company), and Ms. Alexia Lainé (Director, Courchevel Tourism). The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI) was proud to facilitate a successful two-day business delegation to Bhutan, led by H.E. Mr. Thierry Mathou, Ambassador of France to India, in collaboration with Team France. This mission brought together 11 leading French companies from the Renewable Energy, Agribusiness, and Healthcare sectors to explore opportunities and understand Bhutan’s evolving business landscape. Over two impactful days, the delegation engaged with six key Bhutanese Ministries — Commerce & Industry, Energy and Natural Resources, Education, Health, Foreign Affairs and External Trade — and concluded with a high-level meeting with the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bhutan. The visit culminated in an exclusive audience with His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, who shared his visionary plans for the Gelephu Mindfulness City — a project rooted in sustainability, innovation, and wellbeing.
