Marks and Spencer has been managing for the last few days a Cyber incident which has affected many touch-free payments and online order processes across its 1,000 stores. The Retail giant had to use the services of external Cybersecurity specialists to investigate and resolve the situation, after having been forced to temporarily shut down several services due to the attack. The security teams are still struggling to resolve the issue and the incident’s effects. Cyber attacks are everywhere. The M&S incident is just another example. The attacks are frequent and getting more sophisticated day by day. Cyber risks are global and do not skip any industry or sector. These attacks compromise not only devices and services, but also personal and sensitive data, including credit card holders’ credentials and private financial information, when payment devices or processes are involved.
