Enzymit is pleased to announce the #promotion of Noga Alon, Olga Bluvshtein, and Nitzan Kutnowski to Team Leaders at Enzymit! Olga Bluvshtein has made significant contributions during her time at Enzymit, consistently demonstrating outstanding dedication and accountability. Most notably, she successfully led the scale-up of enzymes for the HA project. By developing fermentation processes, Olga and her team have ensured a consistent and sufficient enzyme supply—an achievement essential for HA and side reaction development, tech transfer for large-scale production, and the attainment of our major PoC milestone. Noga Alon has consistently shown exceptional involvement in nearly all aspects of Enzymit’s activities. Her notable achievements include developing the analytical infrastructure for the HA project, leading the development and scale-up of side reactions and downstream processing for HA production, and establishing the groundwork for the company’s documentation and database. Nitzan Kutnowski's dedication and hard work have been instrumental to our progress. His contributions to establishing the purification process for Enzymit’s enzymes and his leadership in developing and scaling up the HA one-pot reaction have been invaluable. For these achievements and many more, please join me in congratulating Noga, Olga, and Nitzan on this well-deserved promotion, and in wishing them continued success in their new roles.

Thrilled to share the incredible progress our science team has made in optimizing enzymes for our 𝗛𝘆𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗰𝗶𝗱 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹-𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀! With a 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲-𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 -meaning NO high-throughput screening and only with only a handful of designs - we’ve achieved remarkable improvements in thermal stability (Tm) with Tm boosts of 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝟮𝟬°𝗖 in some cases. With an incredible 𝟮𝟬% 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗲𝗻𝘇𝘆𝗺𝗲’𝘀 𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗺𝘂𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 in order to reach our stability targets. We were not only successful in improving Tm but also 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗻𝘇𝘆𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 (which previously didn’t even allow for a Tm measurement) and pushing their Tm above 70°C. This is a game-changer for their usability in bioproduction! 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝗻𝘇𝘆𝗺𝗲 𝗧𝗺 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁? Enzyme Tm is directly tied to enzyme stability and determines how many cycles an enzyme can complete before losing activity. In simpler terms, the more stable an enzyme, the more cycles it can catalyze before “wearing out.” In a production setting, this stability has a direct impact on 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: - 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲𝘀, 𝗟𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁: A longer enzyme lifespan means fewer enzymes are needed to produce the same output. This reduction in enzyme consumption leads to significant cost savings. - 𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆: Enzymes that can handle higher temperatures and longer reaction times make the entire process more robust and scalable, essential for industrial applications where efficiency is key. In the context of 𝗛𝘆𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗰𝗶𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, these Tm improvements allow us to produce more with less resources, advancing us towards our vision where sustainable bio-production is not only green but is cost effective Proud to have such a talented and innovative team, redefining the boundaries of enzyme engineering and biotechnology. Here’s to making bio production more affordable and sustainable!
