After months of experiments, data crunching, and (a lot of) waiting, it's finally here! Yay! I received the email from Journal of energy storage that my research article is available online :)🎉. 📢 Excited to share that our latest research article, "Dual-functionality of NiSe₂–CoSe₂ nanowires for electrochemical charge storage and efficient thermal energy conversion," is now published! In this work, we explore how a electrode can do double duty - not only storing energy, but also converting waste heat into electricity 🔥➡️⚡. I want to take a moment to thank a few incredible people whose kindness and generosity made this milestone possible. Behind every figure and paragraph lies a story of quiet generosity, collaboration, and mentorship that made this possible. The turning point in this research came when I started working with functionalized carbon cloth. It was Kamil Rahme who helped me with this crucial step. He probably doesn’t realize how much of a difference he made because he helps every student the same way, without expecting anything in return. That selfless support was a game changer for this paper. When I hit a wall with supercapacitor testing, my supervisor Prof. Justin D Holmes connected me with Prof. Colm O'Dwyer, who leads the Applied Nanoscience Group at University College Cork. Without a second thought, he welcomed me into his lab and introduced me to Alex Grant, Ph.D. one of his PhD students at that time. Alex didn’t just show me the ropes, he guided me through device assembly, introduced me to the PAT-Core cell for supercapacitor testing, and spent hours optimizing the device with me. And all this while he was writing his own PhD thesis. That kind of dedication is rare, and I’m incredibly grateful. A special mention to Dr Rupa Kasturi Palanisamy - my lovable critic! Your feedback mean the world! This publication wouldn’t have been possible without the selfless help and genuine support of these amazing people. I am so lucky to have crossed paths with them. A heartfelt thanks to my amazing co-authors Subhajit Biswas, Anjali Ashokan, Amit Tanwar and Padman for their advice, and collaborative spirit throughout this journey. A special thanks to my supervisor, Prof. Justin Holmes, for his unwavering support and constant encouragement. My sincere thanks to Prof. Kafil M. Razeeb, my co-supervisor, whose tireless feedback , and sharp insights consistently helped enhance both my ideas and the overall quality of the manuscript. 💙A big shoutout to our wonderful project managers Abhisweta Bhattacharjee and Tamela Maciel for your behind the scenes support and promoting my research activities on behalf of TRANSLATE project. Your encouragement truly boosted my motivation to keep pushing forward! Dedicated to TRANSLATE project 🥂 ✨ #University College Cork #Tyndall National Institute Okay, emotions shared, gratitude expressed...now back to wrestling with my thesis and pretending I know what I’m doing😂🧠✍️📚!!
