Barrett Mahony Consulting Engineers are delighted to be providing structural design services for Kwik RC Frames on various residential blocks at Clonburris, Dublin 22. Kwik RC Frames are constructing the concrete frames for the apartment blocks at Clonburris for Cairn Homes. The apartment blocks range from 4 to 8 storeys in height and comprise precast rising elements (columns and cores) and precast parapets with insitu concrete flat slabs. Construction is at varying stages across a number of blocks in Tiles 2, 3 and 4 at this exciting new urban development. Barrett Mahony Consulting Engineers are playing our part in providing the full design and detailing of the precast elements on behalf of Kwik RC Frames.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲: 𝗥𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗸, 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘆𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱 Great to see the work continue to the fitout stage on our Rockbrook Project for Comer Group Ireland. It has come a long way over the last 20 months. Barrett Mahony Consulting Engineers are providing full civil and structural consulting engineering services for Comer Group Ireland for the project which comprises, 428 residential units, plus retail, over 2 Blocks ranging from 7 to 14 storeys above the podium slab and with 3 levels of basement below. The existing 3 levels of basement were partly constructed in 2006 and left vacant. Partial demolition of basement structure was required to accommodate the permitted planning scheme, with new structure, RC columns and core walls, needled through existing basement slabs. RC transfer slabs are utilised at first and third floor levels, with RC flat slabs and precast concrete blade columns on the upper floors. 𝗖𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗹 𝘃𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴! Abi, a graduate civil engineer from our Dublin office, was invited back to Technological University Dublin on Bolton Street today to give a presentation to 2nd year general engineering students. The students will have to choose between civil or structural disciplines in coming weeks. Abi gave them some insight into a day in her life as a civil engineer and why she recommends it. Barrett Mahony Consulting Engineers are delighted to be providing structural and civil design services to University College Dublin for this 2 storey extension to Block H of the Newman Building.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲- 𝗗𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗔𝗔 𝗖𝗮𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸  Construction works have been completed at Dunshaughlin & Royal Gaels GAA Car Park. Barrett Mahony Consulting Engineers were appointed to re-design and re-surface the existing car park which also serves as a drop off / collection point with staff parking to the Dunshaughlin Community National school, also located on the site. Barrett Mahony Consulting Engineers were delighted to provide the civil consultancy services for this project. The before and after photos show the significant improvements these works have delivered! The overall consultancy works include:  • Re-design car parking arrangement incorporating one way system and existing school drop off area • Re-surface car cark with new tarmacadam aisles and gravel parking/drop off areas • New line markings • Vehicle autotracking including bus manoeuvrers • Phased works to ensure car park could function throughout the construction process.
