While timber-frame houses around it have been reduced to rubble, this structure remains intact, a testament to the resilience of ICF construction in extreme weather. We’ve seen this before. The Sand Palace in Mexico Beach, Florida, was one of the few homes left standing after the same storm. Designed with reinforced concrete walls, deep-set foundations, and wind-resistant features, it withstood 155-mph winds when others could not.
