Collaborun 2025, Collaboration in Every Step, Fun in Every Miles! Mitsui Indonesia hosted CollaboRun — a five km relay fun run event with the tagline "Collaboration in Every Step, Fun in Every Mile", on February 22nd. The event brought together 99 enthusiastic runners, representing Mitsui Indonesia and 13 Mitsui-affiliated companies and strategic partners. With an energetic and lively atmosphere, the run shared sense of mutual support among all involved. Our primary objectives were to foster networking and bonding among Mitsui-affiliated companies in Indonesia to strengthen One Mitsui, while on the other hand also enhance employee engagement through enjoyable activities. Additionally, we collaborated with our partners to provide a health talk seminar and some wellness booth. One of Mitsui’s affiliated companies was kindly supported the event by providing well-curated goodie bags for participants, featuring its products. Osaka, Japan is gearing up to host the World Expo 2025, an event that convenes countries, private firms, civil society groups and non-governmental organizations every five years to discuss and find solutions to pressing global challenges. Held over six months from 13th April to 13th October on the man-made island of Yumeshima which measures 155ha and spans about the size of 220 football fields, Expo 2025 will see pavilions and exhibitors from 158 countries and regions and is expected to attract many visitors from all over the world.   To tackle the plastic waste generated at 7-Eleven stores situated at the event, Mitsui and Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation have partnered up to collect and process the used plastics, including food containers and SEVEN CAFE Smoothie cups. Mitsui will establish a collection system, managing logistics such as sorting and delivery, while Mitsubishi Chemical will process the collected plastics using its plastics-to-oil conversion technology at its Ibaraki plant.   Together, we aim to support plastic recycling efforts and contribute to the advancement of a circular economy, while contributing to a clean and conducive environment at Expo 2025. Mitsui is thrilled to announce the acquisition of a 40% interest in the Rhodes Ridge iron ore project in Australia. The acquisition is composed of the two transactions: a 25% interest from VOC Group Limited and a 15% interest from AMB Holdings Pty Ltd. Rhodes Ridge is one of the world’s largest undeveloped iron ore deposits with 6.8 billion tons of Mineral Resources. First ore is expected by 2030. After the future expansion of Rhodes Ridge and the contribution from other existing assets, Mitsui’s total annual equity share of iron ore production is expected to increase to 100 million tons in the future, which will further solidify our long-term earnings base and our presence in the iron ore industry. Rhodes Ridge will be developed and operated by Rio Tinto. As long-standing partners in the existing Robe River iron ore project, Mitsui and Rio Tinto share a strong collaborative history. We are excited to further strengthen our partnership with Rio Tinto through the Rhodes Ridge iron ore project. Congratulations to PT Pangan Lestari on the Groundbreaking Ceremony for The New Warehouse in Cikarang! PT Pangan Lestari (Mitsui-affiliated company) held the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of new warehouse in Cikarang, West Java, on November 3rd 2024. This ceremony was attended by Mr. Shinichi Kikuchihara PD of PT Mitsui Indonesia (PTMI), Ibu Fanni Susilo the President Commissioner of PT. Sekar Laut Tbk., PTMI Retail Division, and the entire management team from Sekar Laut and Pangan Lestari. The warehouse will serve as an integrated distribution centre (DC) that is three times larger than the existing Cikarang DC, which will surely expedite Pangan Lestari’s sales growth in Greater Jakarta area and its surrounding.
