We’re thrilled to announce that Riptides, the Budapest-born trailblazer securing machine-to-machine trust, has closed a $3.3 million pre-seed round — making waves with the largest ever of such a round in Hungary and one of the biggest in all of CEE. 🏆 The founders have two exits under their belt with SequenceIQ (acquired by Hortonworks) and Banzai Cloud (acquired by Cisco). Who’s backing the wave? 🌊 - Lead investors: PortfoLion Capital Partners & KAYA VC - Cloudbreak, the fund of other ex-Banzai Cloud founders - And a powerhouse roster of Hungarian & international angels - Startup Hungary is also joining the round through a dedicated SPV funded by some of our founding board members — marking the inaugural first steps of our new initiative to back founders on a mission towards more and better Hungarian startups. 🙌 Why it matters: 🔒 Non-human identities now outnumber people 50×, yet still form the most under-protected attack surface.
