Last weekend, Swire and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra welcomed over 2,500 students, families, teachers, and friends with special needs for an uplifting spring celebration. The free Swire Community Concert—“Rhapsody in Spring” brought beloved rhapsodies to life under conductor Jing Huan, with pianist Claire Huangci and the orchestra filling the hall with warmth and joy. Before the performances, the student volunteers joined an online workshop to learn how best to support our special needs guests, ensuring a truly inclusive, welcoming experience for all.   We continue to shape minds and hearts through the power of music. The Swire Coca-Cola HK Active Run at GO PARK Sai Sha was a great success! Over 4,000 participants joined this large-scale sports carnival, which featured running competitions, photo opportunities and family activities filled with fun and enjoyment. Congratulations to Taikoo Li Chengdu as it celebrates its 10th Anniversary. This is Swire Properties' flagship mixed-use development in Southwest China. To celebrate this momentous occasion, a series of festivities have been arranged, including the art exhibition "Your Incredible Moments", which pays tribute to Taikoo Li Chengdu’s decade of boundless creativity and imagination. A special documentary film was also created to showcase the development’s journey as a successful urban regeneration project in the Chinese Mainland, and its transformation into a world-class retail landmark. Cathay Pacific and Swire Properties have published their latest sustainability reports, highlighting their progress in sustainable development. Cathay continues to foster a local Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) ecosystem. Its Corporate Sustainable Aviation Fuel programme has seen a remarkable 22-fold increase in SAF usage since its launch in 2022. Additionally, Cathay Pacific reduced its passenger-facing single-use plastic (SUP) items to an average of 2.6 pieces. Two new secondary SUP targets for 2025 include increasing inflight recycling of water bottles to 33% and ensuring at least 50% of passenger-facing SUPs are made with recycled plastics.   Among other accolades, Swire Properties has achieved the No.1 position in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index 2024, marking a monumental milestone in its journey towards a more sustainable future. It also achieved an absolute reduction of 40% in its Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions compared with the 2019 baseline, surpassing the 25% reduction required to meet targets set for 2025. What is the history behind Swire’s bottling plant, Taikoo Tower? In 1983, Swire opened Taikoo Tower in Quarry Bay, Hong Kong, a 17-storey structure that rose 330 feet above Quarry Bay Street, making it the world’s tallest bottling plant at that time. Swire Pacific has released its Sustainability Report 2024, highlighting our progress in delivering SwireTHRIVE sustainable development strategy. In 2024, we expanded our environmental targets to include our new operations in the Chinese Mainland and Southeast Asia. We made significant strides towards our 2030 goals for carbon and water and maintained our waste diversion from landfill. Our businesses made big strides in achieving their targets. Swire Properties topped the Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index (formerly DJSI World) in the Real Estate Management & Development Industry category. Swire Coca-Cola improved its water efficiency and progressed towards its 100% renewable energy target. Cathay’s refreshed 2025 I Can Fly programme kicked off earlier with the inaugural Aviation Explorers Day! The two-day event welcomed 870 underprivileged students from the Strive & Rise Programme and Swire Trust’s NGO partners. Attendees got a behind-the-scenes look at Cathay City, Cathay Dining and Cathay Cargo Terminal. Students also joined interactive workshops and talks at the Cathay Academy, giving them a holistic view of the industry and the company.
