Last week, our team had the privilege to participate in the SAFE4ALL Africa project’s General Assembly and Technical Days in Accra, Ghana. We joined partners from Ghana, Kenya, and Zimbabwe to advance innovative climate services through technology and collaboration. Highlights of Our Contribution: Presented our AI-based tools for hyperlocal weather forecasting, demonstrating how machine learning can deliver fine-grained, local weather predictions. Shared deep reinforcement learning (DRL) models for multi-level, multi-agent climate modeling, a novel approach to simulate complex climate impacts and adaptive strategies. Showcased how these tools are being implemented in Ghana, Kenya, and Zimbabwe, supporting local communities in building climate resilience. Conducted a hands-on capacity-building workshop on atmospheric data assimilation with local meteorological services, working together to enhance forecasting accuracy with real-time data. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from and work alongside our African and European partners. This cross-country partnership under the SAFE4ALL Africa project, highlights the power of sharing knowledge across borders to drive climate resilience.
