ABOUT US
We provide gifts, grants, wishes and holidays to young people battling cancer, as well as families.
This charity honours the memory of Jordan Giddins, who had the gift of making people smile.
Jordan, known as ‘Giddo’, bravely battled HLH and Ewings Sarcoma and gained his angel wings aged 18 on the 27th of April 2017.
We will always be proud of how he dealt with everything; he was selfless, always smiling, brave and never gave up without a fight. An inspiration to all, we miss him more and more each day.
He will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
We will carry his legacy by bringing hope, smiles, and joy to teenagers and young adults going through a cancer diagnosis, as well as their families.
How we spread hope
to children, teenagers, and young adults with cancer
01. Gifts & wishes
We provide bespoke gifts, financial grants and wishes to young people aged 13-24 by working closely with social/support workers across 6 hospitals in the North West
02. Bereavement support
Provide financial bereavement grants & memory boxes containing personalised memorabilia, and support to grieving families following the death of their child aged 13 to 24 years
03. Caravan holidays
We offer free holidays at our caravan in Greenacres, Porthmadog, to young people (24 and under) with a cancer diagnosis, or to families mourning the loss of a young loved one.
04. Giddo’s Goodie Box
We place boxes of sweet treats, snacks, and drinks on oncology wards, enabling young people and their families to access food and refreshments 24/7.
05. Emergency Bags
For young people admitted to hospital unexpectedly, we stock and replenish emergency bags with essential items (toothbrush, toiletries, notepads, phone chargers etc.)
06. Funding Research
We annually donate to four charities to help find a less aggressive cure for childhood cancer: Children’s Cancer & Leukaemia Group; Histio UK; Bone Cancer Research Trust; Sarcoma UK.
07. Raising Awareness
of teenage & childhood cancer through a variety of campaigns, including Go Gold in September.
08. Craft Packs
Located on hospital wards to keep young people entertained while they undergo treatment.
09. Meal Vouchers
For parents of oncology patients to eat while they stay with their child in hospital, to ease financial hardship.
