I’m honored to have been invited to speak at the #𝗔𝗛𝗥𝗔 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗯 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 about how small and mid-sized #radiology practices can effectively evaluate and implement #AI. Unlike larger organizations, smaller practices often have fewer resources for AI assessment and rely on more practical, streamlined approaches. Last Friday, I was honored to be invited at Elysée by President Emmanuel Macron to discuss about Women's health, alongside the minister of women and men equality Aurore Bergé and minister of health Yannick NEUDER. I had the opportunity to directly interact with the President and raised the following points: ✅ AI for breast cancer screening saves lives. For the past couple of years, many studies have shown an increase in cancer detection rates without impacting or even reducing the false positives (i.e., preventing unnecessary follow-up examinations such as biopsies). This directly translates into earlier cancer detection, less stress for the women, and overall better patient care. ✅ 2nd read in France is highly inefficient. Most of the time it is not digitalized: 2nd readers read on films! I also mentioned to the president the IMA-L2 prospective trial we are conducting in region PACA. ✅ Despite best efforts, only 50% of women engage in breast cancer screening programs. While causes are multifactorial, I discuss with the President about our ongoing work on predicting the future risk of breast cancer using AI, and how this could translate into personalized screening programs and strengthen patient engagement.
