⚡ 🌈 🌀 ☀️ 🌧️ As a meteorologist, I am passionate about #weather and I never cease to be amazed by the beauty and power of the forces of nature. (My favourite cloud is a cumulonimbus!) Like all other World Meteorological Organization staff, I was completely wowed by the photos from all over the world we received for the WMO 2025 Calendar Competition. It was so very difficult to select the winners. A big thank you to everyone who sent in photos and voted on our social media channels, and to WMO Members who promoted the competition in their own country. 📣📣📣 Today we announce the Honourable Mentions in the WMO 2025 Calendar photo competition! We received so many stunning entries from around the world that it was incredibly difficult to make the final choice. Our WMO jury of Executive Management, communication experts, photographers and meteorologists picked the winners and honourable mentions which used photographic excellence to showcase weather, climate and water. We took into consideration your votes on social media, as well as geographical balance. A special thanks to our sponsor, the Meteorological Technology World Expo for their generous contribution to printing our calendar. 2025 is a really special year because it marks the 75th anniversary of WMO and the birth of the UN system's authoritative voice on weather, climate and water. We will proudly celebrate 75 years of Science For Action.
