💧World Water Day 2025- protecting our glaciers for a sustainable future ❄On this #WorldWaterDay, we face a major challenge: the preservation of freshwater and the glaciers which are key pillars in balancing the water cycle and our ecosystem. This day, dedicated to glacier preservation, reminds us that glaciers are melting at an alarming speed, threatening millions of lives and territories.  📊According to UNESCO and the United Nations, glaciers play a crucial role in maintaining freshwater supplies for more than 2 billion people worldwide. However, their accelerated melting due to global warming poses an increasing threat to water security and ecosystems.  💡At Laketricity, we believe innovation can offer concrete solutions. Our floating solar power plants generate renewable energy and contribute to reducing carbon emissions at a global scale. 🌍 Word of the month - Why is Renewable Energy important to you?   💬 Today we're giving the floor to Marine Collantes, International Development Manager for Laketricity France, on the question we asked her about renewable energies and their importance.   At Laketricity, we are passionate about our jobs and the meaning they give to our daily lives. It's always very enlightening to hear our employees talk about it themselves, which is why this series of posts is particularly close to our hearts. Face à l’accélération du changement climatique et aux défis croissants de la sécurité énergétique, la transition vers des sources d’énergie propres et durables n’est plus une option, mais une responsabilité.   🤝En tant que Responsable du Développement International chez Laketricity, j’ai l’opportunité de contribuer à cette transition en identifiant et en développant des projets de solaire flottant dans plusieurs pays. Mon rôle consiste à analyser de nouveaux marchés, structurer des partenariats et surmonter les défis réglementaires, financiers et environnementaux afin de concrétiser des solutions renouvelables innovantes. En collaborant avec les acteurs locaux, les entreprises et les institutions, nous travaillons à la création d’écosystèmes énergétiques durables, adaptés aux spécificités de chaque région.   🌞Le solaire flottant représente une avancée prometteuse dans cette transition énergétique. Il optimise l’utilisation des surfaces, limite l’évaporation de l’eau et offre une solution évolutive pour aider les pays à atteindre leurs objectifs de décarbonation. Dans un monde où la demande en énergie ne cesse d’augmenter, il est essentiel de trouver des moyens innovants d’intégrer les renouvelables aux infrastructures existantes.   💡 Participer à ce mouvement, c’est façonner un avenir énergétique plus résilient et durable. ANNIVERSARY 🎂– Located in California, United States, Santa Lucia was installed in February 2020.   Today, Santa Lucia celebrates its 5th anniversary. This project was installed on water treatment pond, and this FPV plant counts 144 modules. Santa Lucia is anchored with percussive driven earth anchors.   🌱 We are glad to share that this project can compensate the energy consumption of 21 households each year and prevents the emission of 37 tons of CO2. Like many other reservoirs in the area, one of the major challenges is water evaporation. Thanks to its configuration, the floating solar power plants can reduce water evaporation by 20%. 👷 With a capacity of 53 KWp, this project has been developed by Laketricity.
