In an article in which the main point is understand the difference between "art" and "craft", how can I translate them properly? My attempt was: "arte e artigianato" but the notion of craft is also art, I don't know if I've been clear! can you help me please! Thank you!:D

  • Ciao Fuko, and welcome to the Forum! :)
I think your translation works ("arte e artigianato"). Artigianato is considered an art, just like crafts (please note this word is always used in the plural, unless it's the verb "to craft"). In fact "Arts and crafts" usually refers to "arti applicate." If you want an alternative to "artigianato" (which can also refer to carpentering, or any work done by hand - which can in itself be an art), I've also heard it called "hobbistica" (or, as stated previously, "arti applicate").
