ScanAgile25 brings together a community of like-minded agile professionals with a global presence

About us

Agile Community, Welcome to #ScanAgile25! ScanAgile25 will take place in March 2025 in Helsinki, Finland. The conference featured international keynote speakers, inspiring talks, and hands-on workshops. With the tracks and workshops, we aimed to maximize the interaction between the speakers and the Agile community for the attendees. As a whole, businesses and society alike need the agile community more than ever to remain competitive. ScanAgile25 brings together Agile Leaders, Agile Coaches, DevOps, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Product Managers, Transformation Experts, RTEs, Solutions Architects, Thought Leaders, and many other professionals familiar with or newly introduced to agility to connect and share with Agilists. Having said that, we recommended that if you are interested in making your workplace more agile, ask your manager to attend ScanAgile25. Better yet, have your entire team attend. Remember to give every change agent in the house a ticket and convince your customers to join you. What is Agile for us? We believe Agile is not a method but a way of thinking about software development and knowledge work that leads to a bright and happy future. 🐇🐻🦊 ScanAgile25 takeaways 🫎🦝🐿️ ▶️ "Get the elephant off the road!!" by Joakim von Prónay. 🚧 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗯𝘂𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱   1. Everything is important   2. Deadlines are fixed   3. Our product is too complex 1️⃣ Everything is important -> Start where you are and learn to set priorities. 2️⃣ Deadlines are fixed -> Use a release plan and standardize work sizes to reduce variability and bottlenecks. 3️⃣ Our product is too complex -> What is the nature of the dependencies? Map the dependencies visually. What you see, you can manage. 💡 𝗔 𝗳𝗲𝘄 𝘁𝗶𝗽𝘀 - Focus on the flow of value instead of doing things in parallel. More cars on the road doesn't mean more throughput -> Little’s Law as a leading indicator. - Involve teams in every conversation. People want to do a good job and collaboration can help remedy the “Not gonna work here” mindset. - Prove that the solution will fix the problem before coding. - Use dependency boards for clarity. How do you balance flow and complexity in your teams? Let’s swap war stories below! 👇 #ScanAgile25 #AgileLeadership #FlowOverOutput #ComplexitySimplified

This is me speaking at ScanAgile25. Definitely going to do this again if I get the chance 🙌 Some personal notes: - Feelings before: why do I put myself into this? - Feelings after: why don't I put myself into this more often? Thank you Joanna Kahila for your help with the recording, Siili Solutions for sponsoring the event and Siili One for making things simple for me. In short, my talk was about how aiming for continuous delivery will make your team happier. By improving quality we enable steady progress and with that we'll get those moments of accomplishment more often. Btw I'm open if you want to discuss about this subject with me 😊 📹 https://lnkd.in/dUrVcCA9

🐇🐻🦊 ScanAgile25 takeaways 🫎🦝🐿️ ▶️ "Deceiving Ourselves - 10 Lies That Organisations Tell" by Sander Dur. 🙅♂️ Whether it's because organizations are lazy or due to our own ignorance, we sometimes follow the path of least resistance or just pretend issues are not there. Making the connection with Tricia's talk, Sander proceeds: "If you want to feel good, blame others. If you want to be good, blame yourself." 💪 These stories we tell ourselves, so-called "myths," need to be addressed to build stronger organisations. And to be a change agent you need perseverance. Cheers to you for pursuing the quest to bring value! Rather than merely listing the 10 lies that Sander shared with the audience, I will summarize a few takeaways I got from the session. 💡 Takeaways - Focus on the problem you want to solve - Prefer passive knowledge transfer over active knowledge transfer - Give the team focus and avoid context-switching - Products are merely a packaging for value 🎁 Sander ended his presentation on a high note, announcing he brought a copy of the book he wrote with Ryan Brook, as a free gift for everyone. What are the most pernicious lies that you encounter in organisations? 👇 #ScanAgile25 #AgileLeadership #Leadership #ContinuousLearning #AgileTransformation #OrganizationalCulture #OrganizationalLies #AgileTruths #ChangeLeadership

🐇🐻🦊 ScanAgile25 takeaways 🫎🦝🐿️ ▶️ "Product starts with People" by Justyna P.. This was fast-paced talk, full of insights and micro-learnings as well, leaving me with lots of ideas and things I still need to investigate further. Here are a few takeaways. 🎯 Mindset shift. Stop calling people "resources!" Your title might say "Project Manager," in the end you still work with people, so you might as well care about them and figure out what makes them happy. 💡 Optimize the whole system: use metrics to gauge happiness, engagement, etc. 📚 Bookish wisdom: from Atomic Habits (small changes, big impact) to Dynamic Reteaming (evolving teams intentionally), the reading list alone was worth the session. 🔥 Radical truth: get the right people on the bus, and don’t fear letting go of the wrong people. While there is an actual cost of losing people, retaining mismatched talent can be even more damaging. 🌱 Invest in connections: reduce the distance between people and go the extra mile. 1️⃣5️⃣0️⃣ Dunbar’s number isn’t just theory. Grow too fast, and teams lose their “why.” 👀 Visualize pain points playfully to get people's attention and to spark collaboration. This session was punctuated by self-reflection and short discussion in pairs to reinforce the learning. What’s your favorite people-first product strategy? Let’s swap notes below! 👇 #ScanAgile25 #ProductManagement #Leadership #Agile

🐇🐻🦊 ScanAgile25 takeaways 🫎🦝🐿️ ▶️ "Organizational Guide to Business Agility" by Zuzana (Zuzi) Sochova. With Zuzi, we embarked on a journey of growth and readiness for whatever challenges the future brings. 🧩 The 5 Pillars of Business Agility 1. Engaged Culture: trust before collaboration, team-building and transparency, experimentation and failure as fuel, inside-out alignment with Values → Metrics → Process (in that order). 2. Value-Driven: purpose first, learn to say “no.” 3. Customer-Centric: co-creation, partnership, empathy, incremental delivery. 4. Adaptive Operations: purpose (and the way it is understood), autonomy, structure, strategies, budgeting. 5. Catalyst Leadership: motivate people, be authentic, build relationships, help people grow, create environments where people thrive. Organizations aligned with these pillars will thrive and dominate the future. 🔥 Key Challenges   • Shift from collaboration to individualism (remote/hybrid tensions).   • Shortage of catalyst leaders who empower teams.   • Being agile can be worse unless you put pieces together. Which pillar does your organization need to strengthen most urgently – and what’s one small step you’ll take? 👇 #ScanAgile25 #BusinessAgility #Leadership #OrganizationalCulture #AgileTransformation

🐇🐻🦊 ScanAgile25 takeaways 🫎🦝🐿️ ▶️ "Building Resilience" by Tricia Broderick. We want to succeed. That's how Tricia started her message, relating the story of a challenge she had set herself some time ago. To succeed, we need resilient teams that can demonstrate or embrace the four pillars of compassion, confidence, courage, and complexity. 1️⃣ Compassion True teams (not just groups!) thrive on vulnerability. Simply saying “we’re in this together” means nothing, and we need: - shared accountability (no single points of failure) - leaders as team "enablers" and who step back from being the “hub” - to go from cooperation (individuals) to collaboration (co-creation) Self-organization does not mean no leadership! 2️⃣ Confidence Beware of false confidence and manipulation! When we manipulate teams toward “our” answers, we kill their confidence. Remember: If they don’t have the skill, you’re responsible as a leader to teach them. 3️⃣ Courage Sometimes it’s not about what is being said but what is being silenced. Courage isn’t doing the thing you’re uncomfortable to do, but the thing you’re scared to do. 4️⃣ Complexity Learning is more important than ever, and is subject to a few inhibitors (purpose, change, unknown, time, and failure). Final thoughts - We want level up success. - The most important was the journey, not the check mark. - Resilience means continuously igniting what’s possible. Tricia ended her talk by giving us a live demo of what she had accomplished at the end of the journey. But I'll say no more. For details, you'll have to ask her 😇 What’s one resilience-building habit you’ve seen work? Let’s crowdsource ideas below! 👇 #ScanAgile25 #AgileLeadership #Leadership #TeamResilience #ContinuousLearning #AgileTransformation #OrganizationalCulture
