We conducted a groundbreaking trial together with Telia and Puolustusvoimat - Försvarsmakten - Finnish Defence Forces, achieving world's first seamless 5G standalone slice handover across country borders. In this pioneering trial that took place across three separate networks in three different countries, we demonstrated that commercial 5G technology combined with network slicing enables secure and reliable mission-critical communications for defense operations, including collaborative missions that extend beyond national territories. Exciting news for video coding! A proposed Constituent Rectangles SEI message aims to improve video coding efficiency for multi-view content like VR, AR, 3D, and cloud gaming. This message, currently under consideration for standardization, describes how videos made from multiple rectangular videos can be efficiently coded using single-layer video codecs. It is included in the Technologies under Consideration document for the Versatile Supplemental Enhancement Information (VSEI) standard, which seeks to ensure compatibility with other video coding standards.
