Herizon welcomes all initiatives aimed at improving the situation of immigrants in Finland, particularly efforts to attract active, growth-minded individuals to our country. The basic idea of the Maanpuolustus - initiative is, therefore, amazing. However, we cannot afford to wait for the next government to take action; the time to act is now. Elina has written a brief blog post addressing this pressing issue. Click the link below to read it! https://lnkd.in/dyyF6MJu (blog post is in Finnish)

Our mission is to connect international talent with Nordic opportunities, ensuring a diverse and thriving future.
About us
We’re bringing new voices to Nordic tech. Our mission is to make the tech world more diverse by linking international talent with jobs in the Nordics. Currently, there are already half a million immigrants in Finland, with 34% holding higher education diplomas. However, many are struggling to find jobs that match their education and experience. Herizon's objective is to secure jobs for 10,000 people across the Nordics by the end of 2027. To date, over 200 Herizon community members have successfully landed jobs, and we’re just getting started. Our community consists of hundreds of talented, skilled professionals actively working towards their next career move. By joining Herizon’s community, members gain access to free training in Growth Hacking, weekly LinkedIn coaching sessions, and events arranged in collaboration with industry professionals and companies such as Maki.vc & KONE. Additionally, we run a mentorship program, and most importantly, we match them with companies actively seeking new talents. We invite all companies around the Nordics to join our mission. Whether you're a founder with a pitch deck, an already operating startup, in the scale-up phase, or a larger corporation, feel free to reach out to us. 💜

We started our morning yesterday by finding out how you can make the notoriously tricky leap from academia to business 💼 The figurative wall that seems to stand between academia and business often feels impenetrable, with both fields speaking a different language altogether, making navigating the transition feel like moving countries. Thankfully, our wonderful keynote speaker Daniela Casartelli and panelists Jenni Toivonen, Abheeshta P., Tuomas Viitanen, and Nicolas Détry had their pockets full of valuable advice and relatable life experiences to inspire and guide the audience ✨ To summarize a few, here are some advice we’ll definitely keep close to us: 💜 They say in German, “Ende gut, alles gut“ (in the end, all is well). If all isn’t well, then it must not be the end, so keep going! 💜 Show up and build connections with different types of people through meetups and hobbies. You never know who in your choir or volunteer community might be your next colleague. 💜 Don’t compare your timeline with anyone else’s. Compare yourself to your past versions to see your growth. 💜 Academia and business sometimes overlap in surprising ways; stellar communication skills, high ownership, and resilience are just a few of the traits that carry you far in both fields. 💜 Job search is a rollercoaster, and ups and downs are a natural part of the journey. Enjoy and live in the moment rather than agonizing about the future. Thank you so much to RELEX Solutions—especially Klara Dąbrowska and Daniela Casartelli for making this event happen, to panelists for sharing your journeys with us, and to Herizoners for joining and making the event such a vibrant and warm gathering ☕️✨ Want to be the first to know of future events like this one? 👀 Join the Herizon Community at join.herizon.io

Last night was all about finding your place in Finland without compromising who you are 💜 Thank you so much Marii Juht and Intero Integration for visiting us and sharing your experience and valuable advice for common pitfalls in relocating and how you can take control over integration even when the official processes fall short. From finding communities and places of belonging to cultivating your own community around personal and professional interests, we'll definitely be integrating these strategies to our own journeys in making Finland feel like home 🏡 Until next time and thank you to the Herizoners who joined us offline and online, and shared their own experiences and support with the rest of the community 😻 Want to be the first to know of future events like this one? 👀 Join the Herizon Community at join.herizon.io

37 Herizon community members landed a job last month — which means we just crossed over €2 million in monthly salaries paid to our community. That’s 2 million going directly into the pockets of international talent building their future here. Big thanks to everyone who’s supported the mission. We’re just getting started. Thinking about pivoting from academia to business? 🥼 ➡️ 💼 You're not alone! Join us for a relaxed morning at RELEX Solutions on April 8th where we dive into real stories from professionals who’ve made the leap, and network with fellow academics and professionals. We have five amazing professionals sharing their journey with us through an opening keynote and panel discussion. We'll talk about their career shift; what helped, what surprised them, and what they’d tell their past selves. The last spots are being booked now, so grab yours before they're gone. See you there 💜

We’ve launched a public impact dashboard to track Herizon’s monthly progress. It includes a Top 200 employers list: Nordea leads with 9 hires, followed by RELEX and Aalto University with 6 each. So far: → 649 people employed → €23.4M in annual salaries → €8.2M in taxes generated In 2025, we’ll run 191 events, and 277 students have joined our internship program. https://lnkd.in/dWwXAg3z
I built a new public impact dashboard for Herizon where you can now follow our monthly metrics. I added a TOP 200 list of companies that have employed Herizon community members. The TOP 10 are shown as a ranking. Nordea leads by employing 9 members, followed by RELEX Solutions and Aalto University (mostly researcher roles), both with 6 hires. So far we’ve helped 649 individuals land jobs, with an average starting salary of €3,000/month. That translates to: → €23,364,000 in annual salaries → €8,177,400 in taxes contributed per year Another milestone: in 2025, we’re set to run at least 191 events (weekly and monthly combined) - all organized by Viivi, solo. And our internship program? 277 students onboarded so far, with Daria now running that show. Not bad for a 5-person team. See it here: https://lnkd.in/dDv7xUdn
