Earlier this year Distance Technologies participated to the MIT Reality Hack (Co-organized by Reality Hack, Inc. and VR/AR MIT) and we knew we wanted to bring the best of the best to 🇫🇮 Helsinki to continue exploring new frontiers in mixed reality. We are looking forward to welcoming 🇺🇲 Dalton Brockett - one of the winners of the MIT Reality Hack to join us for a summer of nightless nights between the seen and the unseen. Dalton brings with him an impressive mix of technical creativity and real-world experience in XR. His background includes immersive development across Apple Vision Pro, HoloLens 2 and building applications that bridge virtual environments with tangible use cases. During his time at Boeing, he worked on spatial mapping and real-time visualizations that advanced how humans interact with complex systems. And now, it's time to leave the headsets and glasses behind and look beyond. ▭ Next stop. Distance.

▭ Exciting News at Distance Technologies ▭ We are thrilled to kick off 2025 and welcome Petteri Timonen as our new Principal XR Engineer and Co-Founder. Petteri brings a wealth of experience in cutting-edge computer vision technologies. He has previously worked at Apple as a Senior Computer Vision Engineer and at Varjo, focusing on state-of-the-art 3D reconstruction algorithms. Petteri's journey is already remarkable, from redefining the performance of Google Knowledge Graph as a software engineering intern to honors such as being named one of Helsingin Sanomat Visio's 35 under 35, Outstanding Young Person of Finland, winning the Intel ISEF 2nd Grand Award and awarded on European Union Contest for Young Scientists with an asteroid named after him. Petteri will play a pivotal role in shaping the next chapter of visual AI from Distance. And we can’t wait to soon tell you more on the incredible things we are working on this year… 🚀 ✨ Reflecting on his decision to join Distance, Petteri shared: “I am thrilled to be creating the future of mixed reality at Distance, and to realize my long-time dream of building a company and product that we can proudly call ours.
