  • We are thrilled to unveil three new products today - Enhanced Cooling, High-Density Flex Wiring, and the LD400sl! The next leap forward for our cryogenic measurement systems arrives with a significant increase in cooling power, and a new wiring platform that provides more signal lines in a new form factor. These developments will enable quantum computing applications to scale further, and allow more complex cryogenic measurement infrastructure to be fitted into our systems. 🔵 Enhanced Cooling Our enhanced cooling solution optimizes the integration of pulse tube cryocoolers in our dilution refrigerators. This improved integration brings a significant increase in cooling power at the 4K flange, doubling the amount of cooling power at 3 K. The solution also allows elevated 4K flange temperatures during normal operation up to 5 K, delivering up to three times more cooling power. 🔵 High-Density Flex Wiring (FPC) Our new, cost-effective, high-density wiring platform utilizes flexible printed circuit (FPC) wiring to deliver enhanced wiring capacity for our side-loading systems. Offering up to 240 channels per side-loading port, the all-new solution delivers denser signal lines with reduced thermal load. 🔵 Side-Loading LD System Alongside these launches, we are also announcing a new LD System with side-loading ports – the LD400sl – that can take advantage of both the new enhanced cooling integration and High-Density Flex Wiring (FPC). The side-loading feature is particularly beneficial for complex experiments with higher payloads, or quantum applications with a large number of qubits in a compact cryostat. • A newly installed LD system at LMU Munich is going to support research into moiré materials, potentially leading to novel hybrid devices for quantum sensing applications!   Dmitri K. Efetov, Professor and Chair of Solid State Physics at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, leads a research program focused on investigating novel “moiré materials” at the intersection of condensed matter physics, optics, and quantum science.   The group uses innovative nano-fabrication techniques to create novel designer materials by stacking and twisting various 2D materials. The countless combinations of materials and twist angles let them engineer unique quantum systems with an unprecedented level of control and tunability. They study these complex electronic states through electrical, optical, and thermal measurements, and use their discoveries to develop new hybrid devices for quantum sensing applications. This new LD system will support this research by providing ultra-low temperatures required to study the materials. It's also equipped with the Fast Sample Exchange (FSE) system. The FSE is a fully automatic load-lock system for fast sample loading and unloading, allowing the rapid exchange of samples without warming up the whole system. This enables quickly characterizing samples at close to absolutely zero temperatures! The installation also marks the first FSE at LMU Munich.   Learn more about the team's groundbreaking research: https://lnkd.in/dJPF7FXZ #quantum #physics #quantumtechnology #cryogenics #CoolForProgress

  • Two new Cryomech HeRL02-RM Helium Reliquefiers are now enabling biochemistry research at the College of Staten Island - take a closer look at the installation process in the video!   These HeRL02-RMs were installed at the Department of Chemistry of the City University of New York-College of Staten Island, part of The City University of New York, where they create a closed loop for helium in NMR spectrometers. Before they were installed, the facility had to perform helium refills five to six times per year – but with the HeRL02-RMs their helium refill costs are gone. “The installation was very straightforward. We had to do a little bit of preparation work in terms of having the proper tubing setup from one room to another, and installing the electric supplies. But that was essentially everything that we had to do. Then the engineers came in and set everything up within two days, with minimal disruption to our operations. So, it was a very pleasant process altogether,” Associate Professor Sebastien Poget recounts.   We also had the pleasure of interviewing Professor Poget, the principal investigator of the Poget Lab, on their research into spider toxins, and how they use the toolset of NMR spectroscopy to carry out the research.   Studying how these toxins work, and how they interact with ion channels in cell membranes, helps to understand how channel activity can be controlled, and leads to the creatiion of new tools for this purpose, and ultimately to the development of medicine for epilepsy, cardiac arrhythmias, and pain.   Learn more in our case story: https://lnkd.in/d9J97vzK   #nmr #biochemistry #helium #heliumrecovery #cryogenics #Cryomech #CoolForProgress
