An unusual armchair designed by Nanna and Jørgen Ditzel in 1950. A mahogany frame supports a large “basket” that is shaped to form a seat. The sloping sides give the arms a resting position and you sit very comfortably in the basket. - Writes a magazine the 27. of February 1951. At the time, the chair was produced by master carpenter L. Pontoppidan and the wickerwork was done by R. Wengler. Today, the chair is Produced by Kettal, Barcelona, Spain since 2014. Kettal Basket chair, made from oak, comes in its original version created by handbraided in wicker, and in an outdoor version, made from artificial fibre and teak.
