  • Uniprotein® approved for the Saudi Arabian market We are pleased to announce that the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has approved Uniprotein® for use as a feedstock in aquaculture applications in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (‘KSA’). This approval is a significant step forward for Unibio as we expand into the Middle East. It aligns with KSA’s Vision 2030 initiative to boost local food production and reduce import dependency, especially as Saudi Arabia aims to significantly grow its aquaculture industry. David Henstrom, CEO, commented: “Approval from the SFDA is a significant milestone for our growth journey. With our partners, we see tremendous opportunities ahead. Saudi Arabia's abundant local resources, including natural gas, make it the perfect hub for producing sustainable protein at scale to meet both regional and global needs. We envisage that KSA will become an important cornerstone of production and distribution in the years ahead.” #Unibio #Uniprotein #Sustainability #Innovation #FoodTech #SaudiArabia #Vision2030

  • Thank you to everyone who joined our recent webinar, "Springboarding from Feed to Food: What Does It Take?" It was great to bring together industry leaders for an engaging discussion on scaling single-cell proteins (SCPs) from animal feed to human food. For those who couldn’t make it, the full webinar is still available on-demand. Don’t miss out on valuable insights into regulatory pathways, technological advancements, and market opportunities for SCPs. As Eleni Ntokou noted, “Scaling SCPs from feed to food brings both challenges and opportunities. With the right ecosystem in place, we can lead the next wave of sustainable protein innovation.” Olivier Hartz also shared the key driver to Unibio’s most recent funding round: “Strategic investors tend to have a longer-term vision and synergies that go beyond just financial returns.” At Unibio, we are focused to continue this important conversation and drive the future of sustainable food solutions through collaboration with innovators, regulators, and industry experts. A big thank you to the fantastic speakers and the Protein Production Technology International team for their valuable insights and contributions. It was a pleasure to host The Danish Minister of Industry, Business, and Financial Affairs, Morten Bødskov, and a delegation at our headquarters in Roskilde, Denmark yesterday. We discussed innovative opportunities for building climate and environmentally friendly biosolutions. We applaud the Danish government’s announced allocation of DKK 60 million to establish test, development, and demonstration facilities in the fermentation arena. As a leader in advanced gas fermentation technology, Unibio is proud to support Denmark's vision to lead the world in providing sustainable solutions.

  • A successful day at the Frederica Marine Engineering School's internship fair! Two colleagues, Mathias Jørgensen and Gorm Borup Christensen from our Innovation Centre in Kalundborg met with many talented and engaged students from all stages of their courses, who had very good questions about our technology, products and internship opportunities. Gorm was able to share his first hand experiences of being an intern for us which was very relevant. Several left the stand excited and impressed with Unibio, while others were disappointed by the distance from where they live to Kalundborg. Even those who saw the distance as an issue still mentioned Unibio as a "potential future workplace." Get in touch if you are interested in an internship with us!
