🚗⚡️The number of electrical vehicles are increasing across all Nordic markets - but are the right guidelines in place to handle them in all situations? 🚗⚡️ Earlier this week SOS International and Malmö Vellinge Bärgaren gathered key representatives from the car industry, insurance industry and public sector, including Trafikverket to discuss the challenges and responsibilities in this transition. As technology evolves, so do the demands for roadside assistance. How can we ensure that the best practices are in place across industries? This marked the start of important discussions that will continue to take place going forward!

Safety and Innovation on the Swedish roads We are proud to collaborate with a network of towing companies across Sweden that are not only quick to respond but also at the forefront of meeting technical challenges in an evolving automotive world. An example is TowTrack – an innovative tool that enables safe and efficient towing of electric vehicles. The technology helps our partners handle the specific challenges that come with heavier batteries and special requirements for electric vehicles. BÄRGNINGS-NIKLAS AB, one of the dedicated towing companies in our network, is one of the first in Sweden to use TowTrack in practice. Thanks to his efforts and expertise, we are setting a new standard for how we can assist vehicle owners when accidents occur – whether it involves electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles, or conventional vehicles. Technology is just one part of the equation. It is the commitment of our towing companies and their ability to adapt to new solutions that makes the real difference. Together, we ensure that Swedish roads are safer for everyone, and we continue to evolve to meet the demands of the future. Take a look 👇

We take deep breaths to keep our minds clear and ready to help around the world 🌬️ At SOS International, we’re on the phones every day – 24/7. All year round, we assist in high-pressure situations. That’s why it’s crucial for us to stay clear-headed, maintaining a cool overview when making important, decisive decisions. Last week, our Copenhagen office hosted a breathwork workshop led by speaker and respiratory therapist Karina Nus Pedersen, where employees could gain valuable insights into the latest research on how breathing techniques can positively influence the nervous system. They also had the chance to practice these techniques in real time. Karina’s number one tip: You can find calm and grounding in just a 5-minute break! Thank you for reminding us of the importance of taking breaks and remembering to breathe! #Helpingpeoplesince1961

Most of us know that we often figure out how to approach a task after discussing it with a good colleague. But who does the top executive talk to when they need to tackle a problem? In a new episode of the Danish podcast Ledelse i bevægelse (Leadership in Motion), Jan Sigurdur Christensen, CEO of SOS International, shares how he has conversations with himself during his runs. These inner dialogues help him process impressions and let his mind wander freely while his legs do the physical work. Sometimes, his runs are really long, as Jan Sigurður Christensen is a fan of ultramarathons in Iceland🏃♂️ 🎧 The podcast, produced by Martin Ellemann Olesen, is available here (in Danish):

With 2024 shaping up to be one of the rainiest years on record in Denmark, punctures are now representing 20% of our roadside assistance in Denmark. We’re stepping up to meet this growing need with the arrival of our latest electric technician vehicles, equipped with mobile tire workshops! One of these new electric vehicles is already making a difference on the streets of Aalborg, helping drivers with punctures and tire damage directly on-site. No need for towing in many cases — we can now mount a temporary spare tire, allowing drivers to get back on the road quickly and safely. A solution that provides benefits for both customers and the environment. Win-win. Director of Mobility Division Denmark, Jan Bøjstrup Christensen, explains: "Our new technician vehicles are part of our strategy to constantly find ways to supplement our fleet with electric vehicles. We have chosen a concept where the new cars drive in the cities and are equipped with a tire workshop. It makes sense for both our business and the environment” Read the full article (in Danish) at our website:

At SOS international we help people and during the course of that last few years the weather is playing a bigger and bigger part in our business. Snowstorms, hail storms, heavy rain and wind. Across our mobility and travel divisions we continue to work preventive and to adapt as the climate changes! Today SOS International was represented by Kristin Charlieson at Svenska Försäkringsföreningen’s Swedish motor claims forum, giving our testimony on behind the scenes of what happened on the E22 on January 3-4 2024, an event that is still alive in the Swedish mind.

NEW TRENDS IN CAR TRAVEL INJURIES - SUMMER 2024 This summer, car holidays for Swedes increased by 19 % compared to last year, and at SOS International, we've noticed new trends in where incidents are occurring. 📉 Declining Destinations Popular spots like Greece, Italy, Spain, and France saw fewer visits from Swedes. 📈 Rising Alternatives In contrast, destinations like Switzerland, Austria, and the Czech Republic are on the rise, with claims in Switzerland up 50%! Norway is also seeing an increase. It's clear that this summer, Swedes traded beaches for breathtaking nature and mountains. 🌲🏞️ ⚙️ Age Diversity in Cars Interestingly, we're seeing a wide range in the age of vehicles hitting the road - from 1949 to 2024 models. However, most claims involve cars between 4 and 10 years old. While newer cars often suffer from electrical issues, older ones are more prone to engine failures, leaving many stranded, especially in Germany. 🔧 Engine Failures Top the List Engine failures continue to be the most frequent issue, affecting 4 out of 10 cars this year. Despite this, accidents have decreased, with the lowest number of accident-related injuries recorded since 2020.
