3 countries, 3 milestones, 3 weeks 🌟 The last few weeks have been busy in JYSK. 🚀 We reached three major expansion milestones, marking our continued goal of bringing great Scandinavian offers to customers across the world. 🌍 Uruguay With our first store opening on 22 March in Montevideo as part of our franchise setup, we officially entered country number 49 – and our first step into South America. A historic moment for JYSK and the beginning of an exciting new chapter. 🌍 Morocco Shortly after, on 10 April, we proudly opened the doors to our two very first stores in Morocco, making country number 50 and our first stores in Africa. A symbolic and significant milestone, confirming our expansion DNA. 🌍 Italy In Italy, we celebrated the opening of store number 100, 101 and 102 on the same day on 11 April, meaning that we’re now represented in all 20 regions of the country. Every opening is the result of dedicated work, strong teams, and a shared belief in our concept and values. Honoured to have served The Royal Danish Court 👑 In 2010, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II granted JYSK the right to use the designation “By Appointment to The Royal Danish Court” – a title only granted to companies or individuals who have supplied The Royal Danish Court for several years, are well-established, financially sound and have an excellent reputation. Today, on 16 April 2025, our official designation concludes, following the decision of the Royal House of Denmark to phase out the warrant altogether. We are proud to have held this distinction for so many years and to have shared a special connection with The Royal Danish Court. JYSK Store Design team wins innovation award for rethinking retail design 🏆 We’re proud to share that we have won the award for Best New BIM Use at this year’s BIM Summit, hosted by Symetri Europe – a key event for leaders in the building and infrastructure sectors. But what is BIM? 🤔 Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a digital way of designing and managing construction projects using intelligent 3D models and data. While BIM is typically used in architecture, we’ve taken it into new territory – retail. Our Store Design team has transitioned from 2D drawings to a fully integrated 3D design solution. Led by Jeanette Verdelin, Team Manager, Store Design at JYSK, a two-year collaboration with Symetri has delivered a smarter, faster design process that: ✔️ Automates key processes like inventory lists and lighting layouts ✔️ Reduces manual work and human error ✔️ Delivers better data and more future-proof design workflows 🗨️ “For us, it’s about working smarter, saving time, and reducing errors – all while creating better store designs. Winning this award is a huge recognition,” says Jeanette Verdelin, Team Manager, Store Design at JYSK. As one of the first retailers to use BIM in this way, we’re showing that BIM isn’t just for architects – it’s a powerful tool for innovation across many sectors. From Nykøbing Falster to New York City 🗽🌟 When Oliver Barfod, former Store Manager at JYSK Nykøbing Falster in Denmark, was awarded the Danish Retail Award in 2024, it wasn’t just a recognition of his exceptional leadership – it was also a ticket to one of the world’s most dynamic cities: New York. As part of his prize, Oliver travelled to the US to explore American retail culture firsthand. From iconic stores like Puma, Nike, Crate & Barrel and Whole Foods, Oliver got to experience the future of retail. 🛍️ 💬 “What stood out most to me was how they didn’t refer to customers as customers but as guests. It might seem like a small thing, but I think that mentality really showed. I do believe that JYSK has an excellent customer service, but there is always something to improve, and this trip really inspired me,” says Oliver. Store number 100, 101, and 102 in Italy 🛒🚀 Today, JYSK Italy made history by opening three new stores on the same day – in Olbia, L’Aquila, and Nocera Superiore. 💬 “It is fantastic for JYSK to surpass 100 stores in Italy, and it was a great pleasure to witness this historic moment from the store in Olbia. JYSK is growing in Italy, and we see significant potential to expand with even more JYSK stores,” says President & CEO of JYSK, Rami Jensen. With today’s openings, JYSK is now present in all 20 regions of Italy, reaching an important milestone in our ambition to be close to our customers. Bonjour Casablanca! ✨ We have officially entered Africa for the first time! Earlier today, we opened our first two stores in Casablanca, Morocco, marking another proud milestone in our international expansion reaching 50 countries with JYSK stores. 🌍 💬 “Expanding into Africa has been a long-term goal for JYSK, and today we are proud to make it a reality with our first stores in Casablanca. An inspiring day at Amalienborg ✨ Yesterday, we had the honour of participating in a special networking event at Christian VIII’s Palace at Amalienborg, hosted by HRH Princess Benedikte and Parasport Denmark’s Chairman, John Petersson. As a proud top partner of Parasport Danmark, JYSK was invited to contribute as a speaker alongside other dedicated partners. Representing us on stage was our Communications Director at JYSK, Åse Andersson. We’ve reached our goal on responsibly sourced wood 🪵🌱 This week, we have two reasons to celebrate Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®).  First of all, we’re supporting FSC Week 2025 in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, bringing focus on the world’s forests and shine a light on everything we experience when we step into the forest. 🌳✨ Furthermore, we’re marking our achievement of only sourcing FSC®-certified wood, which means, that from January 2025, all newly sourced products and packaging made from wood, cardboard, or paper have been FSC-certified (FSC® N001715).🪑 The achievement marks an important milestone in our long-standing commitment to responsible forestry. We have been a member of FSC Danmark since 2006, continuously working to increase the share of FSC-certified materials in the product assortment and packaging solutions. 📦 💬 "At JYSK, we are committed to ensuring that several of the largest material groups used in our products are certified according to relevant standards.
